but does anyone know where i can cash a large check and not pay $402 to do so? lol im trying to go buy my new boat today and the guy wont take a personal check for half of it. (understand that completely) and my closed at 12.

i also understand this will be hard to find some place that will do it but its worth a shot to ask. only reason im worried is cause if i dont do it this weekend i cant get there till weds and hes not gonna hold the boat for me. thanks guys

no it wasnt i just now was able to go get the boat so i told him i could come get it today if he would take a check for some of it. and no its a person

if it wasnt the exact boat i wanted and for a good price i would have already forget you and moved on lol

Speaking from the perspective of a long-time small business owner, cash is King, but bit of trust goes a long way. I appreciate folks who appreciate my business, with them. And I thank those that reciprocate with me or better yet, give me a good reference to others.

In my experience the most untrusting people are also the most untrustworthy. They seem to think everyone is dishonest like them.

Of course the same is true for trustworhy people. They seem to be trusting of others.

I would be extra-cautious about dealing with this guy.

This is an observation that we all should always remember. If they do not trust you then you had better double check the side of the deal they are offering.

Will it float? Does it crank and piss water?. Do you owe anything on it?
These should be answerd easily and without issue.

I'd have someone check the boat out if you not sure of everything you need to look for. Don't know if you do or not. Just a suggestion. I learned a long time ago not to fall in love with anything like that, boats, car etc, it will get you burnt. At least ask him if he minds a mechanic checking the boat. I did that when I was looking for one and I had one guy tell me he didn't really like that idea. Needless to say that was the end of that deal!

youre right its crossed my mind my only problem is its an out of town deal so i dont really know how to go about that. hes told me about a hydro. jack plate problem that it will sometimes go down on its own when it sits still for awhile but when its running it doesnt go down. i guess all i can do is do the compression check and look over it best i know.

If you can do a leak down test it will give you a better idea about the rings and carbon buildup. Good luck! Got to get in bed fishing a tx on nick tomorrow.
