I don't know about anyone else, but I would love to drift some threadfin under that mondo trashslick on the lake side of the dam in your pic! I don't think I've ever seen it that big!

It was about that big last year at times. Its a real shame to see that much in the river. :(</p>

Those satellite images on google earth are pretty old. If I'm not mistaken by zooming out it looks like it was right about the time they first started working on the lock or maybe even a little before. I was living out of state when they started all that but I wouldnt put to much count in these old images for current conditions.

Oh I know it's not current, I was just saying. Back on point though, I looked at the stats, EricM has 5 pages of blue cat TARPS alone, incredible.

andy call me 423 316 9162 we can take my boat out there if you want to go catfishing on sat morning around 0600. send me a pm, text me, or give me a call. im gonna brave the rains today and hit the water. i get off work at 0600, then will be up until about 1800 this afternoon. let me know if you want to go and ill get my little boat ready.

Man I wish I would have seen this message before this morning emoBang I got out there sat morning around 5:30 and fished both sides with no luck. Started on the Chatt state side but the current was brutal so moved across and tried off the bank on access rd side for 5 hours or so with no luck so moved to the lake side with you guessed it no luck :( Had a buddy call and say we could take his boat to the nuclear plant so we hit it early this morning. Fished every drop off we could find with cut bait and chicken and after the sun had me blood red and a jetski sucked a good 100 yds of line off my pole emoEnforce we called the game and gave up.

Where oh where have all the cats gone? emoScratch

SORRY I DIDNT GET BACK TO YOUR MESSAGES ON SUNDAY WAS OUT TRYING TO SCOUT SOME BASS MYSELF, WE WENT TO THE DAM ON SUNDAY NIGHT AND DIDNT PRODUCE ANY LARGE FISH. I HAVENT CAUGHT ANYTHING OVER 15LBS IN ABOUT A MONTH NOW. I WOULD PM ERICM,CATHOOKER OR RSIMMS WITH SOME TIPS FOR THE DAM, AND NUKE. THEY ARE THE BEST.

Your fighting a tough battle right now on the big cats as they have that "lovin feelin" going on. Wait for about a month to get serious about the blue cats.

Target shallow water, fish at night, but yeah, you might as well try something else till about Mid July. Forget about deep water though, just my opinion. There are some big straggling fish at the dam, I believe they're always there, you just have to be patient and a little lucky. Last year on Wheeler I got a 45, 52, 58 fishing with Mike Mitchell at this time, so there's still a few not on spawn at this time.

I would love to understand what they do for sure. I know me and Heath are finding big blues in the beds, but will get kicked out of the holes very soon by the flatheads. Now, these are shallow holes in the 0-5 deep range, I suspect that many fish spawn in deeper holes we cant get to. My suspicsion is that the big females go in and lay eggs, and then the males come to gaurd the holes, leaving the big girls to resume forage...but what do I know! HA HA</p>

Thanks guys, and no worries Seth we called it a day shortly after I texted you. I was fried and started showing my age when everyone else on the water started to annoy me. I felt like an old man emoGeezer damn kids and their jetdoos! emoTongue Seriously though AL makes you get a boating license and at least a basic understanding on what those red and green things in the water are. I swear I dont think anyone out there sunday had a clue what they were for. Are those Christmas decorations somebody left out from Christmas on the river? emoHoppingmad Oh well yea I'll get over it but I guess since the blues are doin the sweet lovin right now I will target another species this weekend for the TARP. Any suggestions?

Yep, $5.00. You get a nice trophy fish certificate with your name, date, and length of the fish. The master angler certificates don't cost anything extra when you earn them.
