Oh I understand how the "System" works and you are correct an alot of what you have said. BUT! To Claim to BE the BEST, you first must BEAT the BEST on any and ever given year. But looking at this years past games is what I am talking about.. It's not as hard being a Great team when all you have to play is Bad teams... It's not all Bama's fault that are forced to play bad teams I guess..... I'm for one glad that UTC is getting alot of money to play Bama..... It's a Win-Win for both teams...lol..lol..lol

Let's see ... Let's replace them "Might Tough Colorado St. Rams with.. Let's say Stanford or another Top 15 team.. We'll Replace "Ole Miss" (although they do have a winning record right now and have been the toughest team that Bama has played other than A&M) with someone from the "Tough Side of the Sec" like South Carolina... Let's go ahead and drop the State from Georgia and have Gurley play the game (Healthy)... Then say the mighty Wildcats of Kentucky replaced by the Tigers of Missouri (although no-one thought they would be this tough this season) after that maybe just maybe since the Arkansas Razorbacks are not much, let's throw Flordia in there (Oh wait they are from the "Other Side" also... So onto the UTC Mocs who also has a winning record but not in the same division,. let's go out there an take someone in at least the Top 15 LIKE Oregon, Baylor, Fla St.,Oklahoma or Oklahoma St. You will notice that I have not messed with Tennessee, Mississippi St. only because everone needs a little SEC help and Bama can use those games to "Tune Up" for Top 15 teams....You see it's really not that hard.. But the thing is that you have to play "Quality Teams" (or at least those who have winning records) week in and week out to be able to STAY Healthy and Compete on a "Top Level". Other teams in the SEC have to do it...I think it says alot when the Coach of a team has to get onto their fans to stay at the game because they are so bored with the quality of teams that they play that they just get up and leave... Oh and for the record.. I bet you were the one about to "Choke" when you thought Ga. might just win...lol..lol...

Now why did you leave out UT (yes THE TIDE could have hung 70 on them) and add a team UT beat (SC) along with a team SC beat (Missouri)?

Where was girly during the SEC Championship Game Last year?

I recall that Saban was in FAVOR of a 9 game SEC schedule so one of these "cupcake" games would be replaced with a conference game. And who says Bama has such a bad schedule? The last few years they have opened up with teams like Clemson, Penn State, Michigan and Virginia Tech. Those teams were ranked and two of them were top tens. They all got beat while other SEC schools were playing people like Central Michigan or Louisiana LaFayette. Come on whomever the Tide plays is gonna have a terrible day and they don't look the same for weeks after. Also, Bama has beaten 3 ranked teams and by the end of regular season it will be 5. Not too shabby for a cupcake schedule. Roll Tide!!!!

I think if BAMA or any other top SEC team would have had to play TN's schedule they would have a least one loss and probably two. Toughest schedule any NCAA team has ever had to play. But there's still hope for TN to make it to a bowl at least this year, and of course BAMA still has a couple tough games on the schedule. Gee, do you think LSU is motivated to pound BAMA this week. And of course Auburn, well they dream about beating BAMA every six seconds.

It will definitely be an interesting week. I can't wait to see how The Ducks handle The Cardinal. I saved money not buying UT vs Auburn tickets and donated that amount to the university instead. BAMA fans don't take me seriously, I just like to stir things up a little. We are all really lucky to be SEC fans. Imagine pulling for "The Big Ten" or PAC 12. You look so good all year against the rest of the conference, then you get to a bowl game with a top or even middle tier SEC team and you get drilled. As good as the SEC is, it's still hard to believe they have seven straight National Championships. Here's to the SEC and soon the SEC NETWORK.

You're right there's still lots of football to be played and alot of things could happen. I'm looking forward to the iron bowl hoping Bama is 11-0 and Auburn is 10-1. Both teams have a tough game before then so we'll just have to wait and see. I still think this game stays close till the 4th quarter and the Auburn running game starts to gash the Vols front seven, eight, or nine they put in the box. Auburn will pull out and win by 14.

I'm the biggest tennessee fan on earth, but Alabama is the best team in the country regardless of their schedule.

DANG! I thought Aubrun was in West Georgia? I"ll be pulling for the Vols this weekend. I know Alburn will lose there last two but I'm hoping they lose there last three.

Just remember WHERE this conversation started... And NEVER let "FACTS" enter into it...lol..lo..lol...

? ... Tn. can't stop the run and Auburn JUST runs the ball, and very well I might add!

Yup, TN may be the worst team in the SEC. Auburn has three great running backs. Kinda glad to see Auburn back. Last year was a disaster for them. Spent a lot a time at Auburn in the mid 80's and really like that school. James Martin was their President then and he was just a great guy. Very similar to Andy Holt from Tennessee who was just the best. I would have loved to get my masters at Auburn in Fisheries, but after 4 years I was ready to go to work.

Prediction Auburn 32 - TN 14

Just how the SEC would do it, right, David Shaw?

Stop it.

As Stanford's leader left the stadium, still holding a colorful play sheet the size of a Denny's menu, he was asked whether he had an ounce of intrigue about what Stanford would do in a full SEC schedule.

He really doesn't like the SEC comparison, he reminds.

There's no tougher conference schedule to navigate than the Pac-12's, Shaw says, in part because of the SEC's November "cupcake" nonconference games such as FCS opponents.

Game recapStanford 26, Oregon 20

"You can write that -- cupcakes," Shaw told CBSSports.com. "It's hard from here on out in our conference."

How funny that they are using the term that I have used all week about Alabama... Just thought this was funny! But it is an example of having to Beat the Best and when you have to PLAY the Best, sometimes you get BEAT!!!!!!!!!!

Shaw's full of crap! Please tell me why Stanford's schedule is supposed to be difficult? The whole schedule looks like a bunch of mid level, non ranked teams to me! Take Stanford and the Ducks out of the PAC 10 Conference and the whole lot of them are cupcakes. You would not have very much left without those two teams just like most of the other conferences. One or maybe two good teams that every year seem to just waltz through their conference like Ohio St. this year and last. Just about any one in the SEC can beat your tale at anytime! Just ask Oregon, Ohio St. Penn St. Clemson, Texas, Michigan, Michigan St. Va. Tech, Notre Dame, and Okla. to name a few how, much they enjoyed playing SEC teams in the last few years!?

... you want to look at some weak cupcake schedules? Check out Oregon, Fl. St. and Ohio St. schedules. Now I think they are all very good football teams so don't get me wrong but look at their schedules. I know that you can't plan a weak schedule because they are so far in advance and you just don't know who is going to be good or bad. And I know that sometimes in the SEC it's kind of like the "Luck of the Draw" of who you rotate in or out every other year. So while your looking at schedules take at it look at the "Murders Row" that poor 'ol Tennessee ran into this year!?

The SEC is by far the top conference in the country (a little top heavy this year but still the top dog) As for Shaw he is one of the best coaches in the country but he has his players for four or five years. Most of the better teams in the SEC have players for three or four.

A lot of what you are hearing and see repeated on this forum is schools trying to lobby for a spot in the BCS bowl games. Make no mistake about it they ( that includes Bob Stoops) all know who the top dog is and they hate it!

I would put Shaw on the A.S. list for sure!
