It takes time to get new system in, so quit your cryin and start cheeriing those vols played a hard game and held gators to 250 or so yards.

i think georgia showed a lot yesterday and i think its only going to get better because they proved they didnt have to reliy on knowshawn yesterday to make some big plays i think they have been kinda laying back this year waiting on what i would like to say hell months coming up

You have to feel for the Vol players. So much talent, and so little coaching. Of course, I have been saying that for years and most of the 'Fullmer can do no wrong' fans blast me for just making an observation that everyone in college football knows. You can hear it on all the talk shows. You see it in manifestation on the football field. Lou Holtz (idiot) even said last week after BYU killed UCLA, just how bad does this make Tennessee. They are pretty bad. They might beat N Illinois and Miss St, but I wouldn't count on it.

And I, as a former Vol fan am loving it. Maybe if the Vols go 3-8, we might get a change up on the hill. That is the only thing that will get me back on the Vol bandwagon. But I'm not counting on it.

Alabama looks awesome to me. The Dawgs had better look out. These teams are evenly matched. Auburn is better than I thought that they were. Florida is pretty good. Lots of speed. Of course, Tennessee made them look invincible, but they can be beaten. Kentucky is just a tough bunch of players who are playing together as a team. Something that has been lost on the Knoxville campus. Vandy is 4-0 for goodness sakes. Wow!

I don't think saying "Vol fans are fair weather fans" is a fair statement. The fact of it is Fulmer is paid 2.5 million a year to fill that stadium and win football games.This is something that has built up over the last couple of years. Mediocrity is not acceptable, and that is at best what they have been the last several years. Everyone else is getting better,and we are not. New system is not a excuse. Has anybody seen much of a new system?? Rebuilding?? How many times in the last 10 years you seen USC, Flordia, LSU rebuild?? They reload. The talent is up there, it's not being brought out and coached.That ballgame was over Sat. in the first 10 minutes. Nobody's head was in that game and it falls on one man's shoulders. Yes they will proably sneak up and surprise somebody this year, but so what. It should be a surprise when they lose. Just my 02.

As a transplant to the Knoxville area, I'm amazed and amused at all the Fulmer and coaching staff bashing. I don't agree with the "fair weather fans" either, you all are some of the most dedicated fans I've ever seen. I will say that with such a consistently successful program over the years, a lot of fans are somewhat "spoiled" when every game isn't a win. The coaches aren't the ones who miss tackles, fumble the ball away, throw interceptions, jump offsides on crucial downs, shank punts, and let kicks be returned past midfield. They coaches are the ones who recruit talent, and that is what UT lacks right now - they just don't have the talent and speed that the elite teams have. Defensively they are pretty tough and that will keep them in most games, but offensively they are soft and slow compared to the elite teams. I just don't see them being able to score a whole lot of points this year so their defense better win some games for them...

You had to know there was trouble in River City when they went into UCLA and couldn't win a game where they got 4 INT's in the first half. How can you lose ANY game when you get the ball four times off turn overs? They threw the ball well in THAT game, but can't today?!?!?! Where is that "best O line in the NCAA????" "one of the Top three running backs in the country?????" We heard that all the time in the weeks leading up to the season starting.... Maybe they have just gotten lazy thinking they are all that and not disciplined as Rob is saying. How many times have we seen teams that get too big for their britches with big heads!?!?!?!? Go Heels is right.... You gotta be sad when we are thinking Carolina could run over the Vols..... Something has to change. Those young men need to rally together and WANT to win. Fulmer can only do his part, they need to do theirs.

We just went threw the same thing at arkansas. In experience i can say regardless if fulmer stays or goes, the damage is already done. He needs to move on, if he wants to save his reputation. Its a lose, lose situation, you'll see.

someone commented on Fulmer losing his cool and how that was not the thing to do! THAT WAS EXACTLY THE THING TO DO! he has clapped and smiled everytime someone has done something stupid for the last 15 years. He needs to chew some butts and punish our premadonna players.

I have seen Saban Spurrier Miles (especially Miles) question players ancestory right on the field many times. ANd my God how can an Alabama fan talk about a coach losing his cool when the all holy Bear was known for it.

That's right the coachs don't fumble, throw interceptions, miss tackles, jump off sides, etc...that's where the lack of discipline comes in,and that is the coaches job. If Fulmer's attitude was okay, if you can't hold on to the ball..somebody else will, if you can't tackle somebody else can, if you don't know the snap count somebody else does. I think you would see alot different attitude and sense of urgency up there. I read in the paper or somewhere after the UCLA game when Foster laid it down in a crucial situation as he has done many times before. Fulmer said " He don't have a fumbling problem he has a ball security problem and he will get another chance in that situation" I mean come on, I understand taking up for your players, but this wasn't the first time nor the last. If he had said " Until he learns to hang on to the ball he will not see the field again" When he did see the field again, how many more careless fumbles do you think you would have seen????? NO DISIPLINE.... As far as talent goes....Biggest gap I have seen is wide reciever, I don't think there is any real playmakers, but if I remember right this junior class was the number 1 recruiting class in the country.

I have been going up to Knoxville for 30 years and watching Tenn. play and this has been the most frustrating year that i can remember. I was up there Saturday and I listened to the boos and although I am not a booer I do understand why people do it. 55.00 a ticket 20.00 to park 75.00 in gas plus food so if you spend 200.00 in one day then you have a right to express your opinion. What gets me is when people get on these message boards and talk about how those UT fair weather fans want this and want that and want to complain and thats thy there not UT fans. Here is the deal EVERY team in the country has fans like that and Alabama and Georgia people cry the same way when there teams are not performing. Allot of people are just idiots in this world and run there mounth about crap that make no since and everybody's got them it is not just UT. The sun came up Sunday morning and as a UT fan I will be back up there a week from saturday to support my team (even though it may be hard) ha ha
