Ok...the very first time I fish Guntersville , I land a 7.5 and a 4 something. Flip gets a few good ones and we end up with 18 plus lbs...

Next 5 TRIPS down there...Notta! 2 fish I have caught. 1 spot, 1 small LM. I'm really starting to freak out over this lake. To be in the top 10 lakes for bass, you'd think after 5 trips, Id have a few decent bags. I'm sick of it and hate spending the money! What is the trick to getting fish on that lake!?!?!?</p>

The G can be moody!!! I've been skunked down there more than once! I've drifted down the main river grass lines flipping in the summer and drift for miles without a bite and suddenly you hit a pocket with alot of actively feeding fish. It just seems like the fish are found in bunches and if you dont locate a bunch, you can have a rough day. Like Flip said, the spots you hit may be on fire next weekend. You just never know. Another thing to keep in mind about that lake is that due to its popularity, those fish get hammered, talk about pressure!!!

Dont worry Billy, remember to have fun and keep your bait in the water you'll find em.

For what its worth - I see Randy Tharp came in 10th with 17 pounds in the BFL. He is the featured fisherman in the Alabama Outdoor News Map of the Month article this month on Guntersville. He talks about patterns and baits and we marked ten places/areas he likes to fish in February there. He is on the cover of the magazine, too.
