The Chat Room on CFF

I notice that a lot of people go into the chat room, but leave without saying anything! I'd love to sometimes chat with some of you guys I have been reading the past 6 mos. If you guys go there, say something and stay long enough to get a conversation going!!! We could get a whole group discussion going on certain areas/topics if we get it going.... just a thought from the new guy and official 2000th member.

I have logged on several times in the past couple of weeks, asked if anyone was on, and got no response from anyone. Maybe I have bad breath!emoBigsmile So, I quit logging on. I just look for responses on the regular forum.

What might work is if we advertise that we are going to be on the chat room at a certain time and anyone willing to chat, could logon at that particular time and chat. When we randomly log on, it seems that no one is ever on.

Hey DHaun...is it possible for you to have the "Chat" link display the # of people in the chatroom? I think "Chat (8)" might promote more activity.

Sorry BOTW - Good idea, but it's not possible as its a totally different application hosted on a different server. The Chat capability on CFF is just a basic application I threw together hoping it might add some value. I am not planning any improvements on it.

Not sure if it will fly or not as it's kind of hard to tell someone to go to the chat room. You can call them or pm them and tell them to meet you in the chat room, but then you are already chatting!

I like the idea of posting that you are going to be in there a certain time -or- maybe even a regular scheduled time for CFF Chat maybe something like (9am, 12pm, 7pm) and the Tony Sanders Show from 6-8am Saturdays and just see who shows up.

David, I like the 9 am, 12 pm and 7 pm scheduled times. I'll try to remember this and go to the chat room at these times if I am home.
