The Hogs and the Vols!

Dgreen, don't get'em in a bunch. Neither Tennessee or Florida looked like contenders. My point was to say those wagon hoppers need to be called out when Tennessee does win. And yes Tennessee does play a lot of underclassmen and it does take time to build a program.

TN was in such piss poor shape as a program it's going to take time. I can see the difference from last year to this year, it's huge ! Yes, they all need to learn how to close out a game but I see improvement everywhere on the field and I like the game plan in these first 4 games over all. Yes Butch needs to grow a pair late in the game, but it will come around. But you fire him and his staff this year and you might as well quit playing football up there.

Ole Miss was (2-10) when Hugh Freeze took over. They've gone (7-6), (8-5) & (9-4) in the three years since. (By the way they play in the west and I don't think I need to explain the difference there.) That's what improvement looks like. I didn't like it when they hired Butch but I hoped I was wrong. But knowing DD beat him with less talent when he was at Cincinnati bothered me. I agree firing him would be tough on the program, but when I heard him say they COACHED and PLAYED well enough to win against Florida. It really pissed me off. I wonder how dumb he thanks we are. Maybe he gets another year but if nothing changes he's got to go.

Unfortunately Vols fans (wagon jumpers) are quick at wanting another coach when TN doesn't come out winning by 24pts. True Vol fans see us rebuilding, by coaching, recruits, and fan support. I had hope in DD but he was terrible. Either support the Vols or put on your baby blue and pull for Ol Miss.

Ole Miss has also used crap tons of JUCO players. Yep looks good quick and then all the sudden you're average again. Butch is doing it right by going through the high school players ( for the most part) . I'll be patient and not expect a bunch of 19 year olds to compete for championships right away. Is it frustrating....YES, but in the long run they will be great.

Dgreen - 10/2/2015 12:58 PMI hope ya'll are right and I am wrong! But you can't use the young excuse forever.
As long as 80% of the team is freshman and Sophomores you can. I expected next year the year that they need to be serious contenders for the SEC championchip. I'm still not sold on Dobbs and think there maybe a serious qb competition this summer with Dormandy. I think Dormandy brings more to the table than Dobbs does.

Congrats Jmax. Your young Arkansas team looked good.

Thanks, I thought it was kind of ugly. I am going to throw out the injury card too. We have our best running back(Jonathan Williams) sitting on the side lines watching and one of our best receivers(Jared Cornelius) with a broken arm. Another key receiver out is Keon Hatcher with foot surgery. We have several of our starters hurt or broken. I cannot help but wonder if they had of stayed injury free if they would have lived up to the hype. Knowing my Hogs....probably not. emoRolleyes But we will take a win any way we can get it. emoTongue Go HOGS!!!!! Beat anyone you can! emoBigsmile Jmax

Oh it was a little ugly. But the hawgs didn't lay down or quit. I suspect there will be more close games that will have a chance of going either way.

Tennessee program was in terrible shape when butch took over. And now it is still in terrible shape. Go vols. Going to find me a paper bag to wear to next game
