Maybe I can get BAMA to come up and give-em a little pep talk to help them out!!!!! Anyway I was glad to see them pull it off. emoSmile emoSmile

Yep, I was rooting for the Vols. I usually don't. emoTongue (Go Hogs) But when they are not playing my Hogs I will root for the SEC. Last night however I did feel sorry for the Freshman kicker for App State. He gave the Vols a chance to win twice, left the door open with a missed field goal and an extra point. Had the leg but both went right. He did not loose the game for them but he could have won it for them. emoEek If he had made either that game would have been the big "L" by the Vols first game. emoGoofy Butch Jones said it best after the game, "You don't apologize for a win but we had a lot of things we did wrong and we will fix them before the next one." emoThumbsup Jmax

The Vols looked like I expected them to look to be honest. Months of listening and reading their own press clippings and they came out and should have gotten beat.
I went to Georgia Southern, so I know a little about Appy State and they are a very good football team. They have a freshman kicker, and that really helped the Vols, but make no mistake Appy is a legit team when they play these bigger schools. The key to beating Appy or Georgia Southern or any of the good mid-tier teams is getting ahead big early because if you let those good teams hang around sometimes they find a way to beat you.

Amen! Ask Ole Miss, Miss. St., LSU and Texas if they would have loved an ugly win. I did think they would have played a little better than they did. Appy. St. should win their conference with no trouble. As for the Vols, it was the first game of the year, they have been listening to all the hype about how great they should be, and they have a really big game this week at Bristol. I think they took Appy State for granted a little. Plus I am sure we did not pull out all the stops. I for one, think the scare did the Vols a lot of good. If they had the big head Appy State let most of the air out of their bubble. I also don't think last years team would have came back and won. I just wish the coaches would leave Dobbs alone and let him play his style of QB. You can't take dual threat QB and try and turn him in to Peyton Manning. Let him do his thing. If he gets hurt we have a backup with a cannon for a right arm. Go VOLS!

If I was coach( which I'm not Hahahaha ) I would throw it to Malone in the end zone at least once every time they are on opponents side of the 50 yard line and let him go up and get it!! But I guess that's why I'm on here and not SEC network!!
