Well I guess I get to join the ranks of people who have had their home broken into and their property taken from them. They loaded up my safe and took it with them. To bad (for them) it had nothing in it. LOL they ransacked everything looking for jewelry and money which we have neither of. They took my watch a knife and two guns so far.

I need a alarm system.

man that sucks...I'm sorry to hear that. There is nothing worse than coming home to see you've been a victim to a break in. Hopefully they will catch the thugs that did it.

Sorry for your loss. Thirty Five years with Allstate, I saw a lot of this. Shame that a persons home is not safe these days. Not much I hate more than a thief and a liar! Growing up in North Meigs County during the 50"s & 60's we didn't even lock the screen door.

I hate to hear that. One thing you could get is a gun safe. I know they are not the cheapest thing, but worth it in the event of a burgulary or fire. Ive got a Liberty 36 gun safe. It wasnt cheap, but its fire proof and weighs about 400lbs empty. It probably weighs 550-600lbs now with my guns, ammo, laptop, and important paperwork in it. On top of that it has 4 half inch lag bolts in the bottom of it going through the floor. So im not worried about someone stealing it. Still im sorry to hear about the burgulary.

I live out in Dade County on top of Sand Mountain on highway 136 right before it crosses into Alabama. The safe was one of those fireproof safes for documents and I had not got around to putting anything in it yet. They got my favorite 357 magnum and a Mosin-Nagant M44 carbine that had been customized I had done a lot of machine work on it myself.

I dont know if it will help, but try looking on theoutdoorstrader.com and armslist.com for your guns to show up. I know its a long shot, but thats the 2 biggest gun trading websites i use. A lot of people locally use both. I doubt they would get posted on them, but just maybe they would. What model was your .357? Do you have any pics of the guns? If so, ill keep an eye out for them too.

Ooch! Hate to hear that, you have a pm.

Gang, it is weird but the break in time frame is about to heat up. There is season ups and downs on break ins. When school starts back up is an increased time for break ins. Mom and dad are both working now days and the kids are off to school The house is empty and prime for the pickings. This is the time that break ins increase and if you do not have an alarm you are more likely to be a victim. If anyone else wants to discuss alarms and/or monitoring give me a shout. I have one of the best alarms that has ever been made it come in 2 parts part 1 weighs in at around 90lb and don't like any one he is a black lab named bo part 2 is a glock 19 backed by an winn 1300 defender when put to geather they work flawlessly . you should try it

Agree with all. Report to police, local pawn shops, and consider an alarm system. I'm not a big alarm system kinda guy, but there's certainly a place for them. And while I don't know that thieves frequently re-rob the same places, it could give some serious peace of mind.

In the meantime, if you don't know your neighbors well, go talk to them. If they live close enough... Having good neighbors who keep an eye out can deter a lot of crime.

If you have any pictures of the .357 or mosin, please post them so we can keep an eye out. I look at armslist, Tennessee guns classified, and belong to several facebook gun trading groups. I will definently keep an eye out for them.
