Tilt/trim problem....

That should be a API kit with relays and a plate. It replaces the SQUARE motors even though it is round. If you have to replace a factory round with side fill you have to replace the pump and motor assy. It gets very confusing trying to figure out which one is needed.

Ive had to replace two different tilt/trim moters, and i found them on go2marine.com. The cheapest i could find the motor anywhere else online or around town wanted $350 and thats not including putting it on. but it was $130 on this website and was the right one and they were good to deal with. Dont know how much it would be to install it cause i did it myself. I hope this helps

fishinvol - 2/16/2009 4:27 PM Got it working again. Got the engine up, and tapped on the motor lightly with a hammer. Works good as new.

When it quits working after you lightly tap it with your hammer, get a bigger hammer emoBigsmile

Chris, I would think those guys are right, check with someone that rebuilds small motors or works on them. Getting the brushes replaced shouldnt be expensive at all.

Just don't hit it TOO hard. Then you will crack the magnets then you WILL have to replace it.

Went to Go2marine. They are $2 cheaper on the API PT476 than Pro Marine. What motors did you replace for that price??
