Talk about stupid! Yea, let's walk out into a race of fast cars, in a black suit, on a dark track and point at a guy who hit your car, IN THE TRACK!!!! emoBang That went from bad to extremely bad due to his poor decision to do what he did. emoCrazy Jmax

Epic results of road rage, I have some rage, just never step out on interstate to finger someone, do it from inside the vehicle. Bad situation, not a solution for incident, death for a person & family to live without & Tony now has to live with this tragedy, not a good result.

This will haunt Tony for years, will never leave his memory bank, could be a demise to his ability to continue.

emoAngel for all involved............... emoGeezer emoUSA

its hard to say it was him who reved his motor with 20 other cars on the track the media has made tony look like a murderer everybody saying he turned into him the people accusing him of that has prob never seen the size of the right rear tire on a sprint car its prob 2.5ft -3ft wide and he may not have realized he was that close to him and why in the world would he risk his career take a chance on prison time and ruining his life and the boys life over a "at the most 10k race" its dark on them tracks like jmax said been around dirt tracks all my life not saying he may not have tried to sling a little mud on him or was giving it gas to try and move by him faster only him and the big man above knows that but the young man should have never been out of his car just pray for all involved

There is no doubt that Tony Stewart saw the guy standing there (black suit or not) It had white/silver strips on it and the wall in the background was white. Plus as everyone knows after a caution comes out they slow down and are aware that there could be debris or a car in the middle of the track. so Tony was well aware of what was coming up. Then he sees the guy standing in the middle of the track and he did hit the throttle as he goes by as you can see his car get sideways after he hits him. But if you notice Tony was further up the track than most any other cars as they passed. That tells me what his intentions were. Granted he was probably trying to get close to scare the guy back (as Tony has a history of road rage) After he hits the guy his car is more to the top side of the track. I understand racing can be dangerous but after a caution there is no need to act like that. I think Tony is 95% responsible being he could have been and should have been all the way to the bottom of the track! sure the guy should had never gotten outta the car but you can't just drive by someone that close while engaged in road rage! Tony should had been the bigger man while driving the car and avoided it all together by driving in the grass if need be! Senseless and sad. I think they should really look into this and press charges accordingly!

Jeff, with all due respect I disagree. The guys car was in the back ground, for all you know it was black suit on black car on a dark track at night. The guy almost got hit twice by two other cars while trying to do what he did before Tony hit him. He was going after Tony on that track! A pure case of road rage on his part. Tony may have hit the gas to try and avoid him for all we know if he really did hit the gas. It would serve no purpose at all for him to hit the guy and why would he? I did not see what you saw. So far the right call has prevailed. I sure hope they do not charge him just to get their pound of flesh. In the heat of a race with other cars in front of you and your racing to win a race it is very likely he never saw him until it was too late. Jmax

Jmax did you watch the same video? I agree that Tony did not want to kill the kid, but he definantly drove high to rub it in. He gassed it to mock him and lost control of the rear end. He should have never been that close to the kid. It was a classic Tony wanting to teach someone a lesson as he has done before. I am not sure how this is going to turn out.

Yea, I watched it three times before it was taken down. I did not see intent. I guess we all have the right to our own opinion. It appeared to me the kid was trying to get him to stop and stepped in front of his car. No one knows for sure if he saw him or not except Tony himself.

I agree in the heat of the race things may happen but this was during a caution and Tony knew the guy was going to be pissed when he came back around. Tony knew what was coming up! It's not like a fan just ran out on the track! I could understand if that were the case but Tony knew the next time around there would be/could be a reaction from the guy he had just crashed. TS should had been down on the apron to avoid the guy all together but when road rage and racing come together with a hot head like TS this is your result. I don't think TS was intending on running the guy over but he was for sure being an ass and trying to scare him. Both just got a little too close. But TS had the option of driving down on the apron to avoid him and chose not to.

Jeff has it right. I watched the video. No reason to come up that close to a person and it was obvious that Stewart knew he was on the track. It looked like to me that Stewart actually swerved into the guy, rather than away from him. My first thought on seeing the video was that he should be charged. I doubt it will happen.

I think he was trying to sling dirt in his face and clipped him with his back tire. I bet if it was one of us nobody's they would have already locked up and we would have to prove we was innocent.

I TOTALLY AGREE WITH RIVERMONT JEFF. THAT WAS A HIT AND RUN, HE DIDNT EVEN STOP TO OFFER HELP.

Tony is guilty of the same type of behavior as the young man. A couple of years ago Tony was involved in a wreck. He got out of his care walked down the track and threw his helmet at the other driver. Tony had to know there may be some reaction from the other driver. I do agree the kid should have stayed in his car. I also think Tony should have been lower on the track than he was. JMHO

Hate that it happened, especially for the kid, and his family. Never been a Tony fan, he is a crybaby prick in my opinion....but I sure hate that any conflict resulted in a death. Tony has to live with this.....forever.

I do know one thing the way to turn a sprint car is to give it gas ...in dirt track racing the term turning with the throttle is true that's why the right rear is so big .....yea he may have been taunting him that's part of it and it went wrong
