hey guys i have been hunting for years and have had good results in years past but for the last 3 years i have had very poor results to say the least how low is the very lowest you guys set in your climbing stand and also how high is the max how close to trails do you guys place your stands i am asking because i can not see a deer when i am in the woods just on trail cams thanks guys for the help

I wouldn't worry so much about stand height as I would about wind.. I hunt from 30 ft up to 15 to 20 ft. All depends on terrain . Of course I have one stand that is about 35 ft up and doesn't seem to matter which way wind is blowing I see deer about every time I sit in it just play the wind right

Too hot to see many deer the last few weeks, but the next few weeks will be a different story.

May have nothing to do with your stand, I try to enter my hunting area, and hunt with the wind in my face.

For me, stand height depends on the amount of leaves and coverage on the trees. Earlier in the season I can't get too high or it really cuts down on how far I can see. Later in the season when most of the leaves are gone, I can go much higher and see farther.

I like to be no less than 12 ft. Try to hang back off of the main trail in a spot I can still see it good. I climb once I get to my lowest point I start to look around and decide how hif gives me the best view. But some cover as well. Wind can kill a hunt. What you used to prevent scent as much as possible and a cover scent also.best to have multiple places where wind will affect it different at those places. Pick which spot to hunt by the wind.
