Hello,
I am in the process of ordering a new Bay Boat and wanted to know if anyone had any experience with remote Foot Controls for the trolling motor. I'm sure they react different than traditional foot controls but I wondered if you get used to them. I am looking at a MinnKota Riptide Terrova I Pilot. There is no place on these boats to recess the Trolling Motor Pedal without having fiberglass work done.
Thanks!

Yeah they work. It was definitely weird for me at first as they are not as responsive as cable driven, but I'm sure you would get used to it.

I only use my foot control on my I-Pilot about 1% of the time. I use the hand held most of the time. dk

I installed one last year...Riptide Terrova. I use the foot control mostly but not the pedal. On/Off and left/right foot buttons are my preference. Easier on my knees. My only regret is that I didn’t spend the extra money for auto deploy. There is no pull rope to get it back out of the water so it’s sort of awkward to get the 105 foot pound thrust monster back on the deck of my Triton 225 LTS. If you install yourself, be aware the mount is short and sits way forward. I could only get 5 of 6 bolts installed and ended up installing a backer plate under the deck to make me feel better. The handheld remote is nice and I absolutely love the “auto anchor” feature...it really works!!!!

Oh, one last note...the pedal is only about 1.5 inches tall and I used Velcro to install as I despise drilling holes in my (I mean my wife’s) investment. LOl
