Does anyone know why in the world tva/twra is blocking all of the coverts so a boat can not go thru them? I know of a few that are going to have bars on them in a week or two, the brackets got put on them this week. I talked to the regional twra office on Tuesday and they knew nothing of this. so just wondering what's up with who ever is doing this.

A covert is Triton and Deerhunter's actions of removing said barriers.
A culvert is kinda like a tunnel with water in it , open on both sides. Its the best description I can give this morning with only half a cuppa in me so far.

The one that is right above dayton right past the camp ground on the right side of river. And was told that they are going to do a few more.

The one across from Dayton has been up all year.. my boat barely squeaks through with the brackets. It is located on the Hiwassee refuge so my guess was they were going to use it to install a drop structure to control water level in that backwater for bird habitat. Just my thoughts, I may be totally off.

Yea my guess it will be a holding n resting pond for ducks when they drop the water,,,that's part of Hiawassee refuge up there at Moons,,,they'll slide a barrier in to dam up the backwater
