You had better read that statement carefully. It says drag, transport but it is after the animal has been located and is confirmed dead. If you are looking for an injured animal and it has not been located, then you are hunting. Because you are assisting with the hunt.
Yup, that's what I was thinking Carl. The judge will decide how much he wants to tax your butt.if ole bob moon were still around you could have a lawyer settle it in his court and walk away with every dollar you you walked in with

It also says you can transport a deer without a license. Who here believes they wouldn't be written a ticket if they were transporting a deer without a license? Not a big fan of self proclaimed employees stating policy. Even if this is a TWRA employee and their statement is notarized, it still has no standing in court. It has to come from the TWRC's formal process or be state law to have standing in a court of law.

So if I take a kid on the juvenile hunt would I have to have a hunting license? I would be assisting in the hunt and if I was assisting in the hunt I would be hunting out of season correct? The assisting in where the confusion comes in as far as I am concerned.

You dang right you have to have a license if you are taking a kid on a juvenile hunt. Better throw on the orange while you are at it.

That being said the TWRA officer was obviously a vol fan and just wanted to see more orange.

Good discussion here... which illustrates the exact reason(s) we have judges and jurys. emoBigsmile

Also illustrating my previous comment that you should use them.

If you are assisting a minor on a hunt you do need a license. You can even handle a gun: just not a loaded gun. Even if the juvenile has to go to the bath room or steps over a fence. Don't touch the gun unless it is completely empty. And yes, you must wear orange.

Yes Richard I agree very good discussion here. It was either this or Obama Care! Since I didn't talk about it over thanksgiving dinner like our president asked us too. Lol

If everthing u said is correct as a former police officer. they need to take to court with them them paper stateing u can help someone find a deer that is dead without a license. if not their wasting there time

You can transport a deer without a license but you better have the print out or the number given after the deer was checked out.
