**Edited for personal attack** It is you and your parties liberal policies that have the rascist connotations to them today. Look at the African American state of affairs today. Look at the slums of Detroit, look at the schools and crime of D.C., look at the state of Harlem all controlled by liberal govt slum lords. Your party sir keeps the African Americans at bay and begging for scraps from their leaders tables instead of letting them succeed. Your party wants to keep it this way because it is a cheap way to buy votes and power. Even with a black president there is no talk of extending school vouchers to black children in D.C. where the public schools are an utter failure. Personally I will not take lightly the accusation of racism. For my beliefs are in line with Mr. King who said a person should not be judged by the color of their skin but by content of their character.

Maybe its the 300 years of forced slavery, and a hundred years more of discrimination and segregation. And your concerned that African American have had a difficult time fitting into "white society" Read a friggin History book before you spout off about something you know nothing about!

I do not think Mr. King would be calling people idiots. Again you talk about vouchers so kids can go to schools that are not held acountable. Anyone on here ever seen a state report card for private schools? No. Private schools will take the kids voucher, and when they do not perform they will kick them out, no refund. There is no acountability. If a public school did that they would be failing because of graduation rates. Private schools are not held to the same standards as public schools, plain and simple.

The voucher program in D.C. was a complete success. It increased the graduation rate and gave minority children a chance at higher education. Then the Democratic run Government nixed the program so now minority children that would like to get out can't thanks to your party. Congratulations, but maybe you will have some more brainwashed minority votes. As far as private schools go I have a little personal experience. I went to public school because of my experience there my younger sister went to Notre Dame in Chatt. My class had 250 who 20% of those had committed to a college. My sisters graduating class had 120 in which all but two had committed to college by graduation. The other two were going to the Peace Corp. Maybe Notre Dame didn't have Government accountability but they sure prepared more young adults for a successful college career than my public school. Again I take the accusation of racism seriously and will not back down from my comment. Yes I do believe Mr. King would call someone an Idiot who throws around racism so erroneously and without wit. It not only divides but defeats the cause of equality that Dr. King died for.

You have know idea, and privates do not except everyone. If you have experience in the private school system you should know that. Again private schools will not fail because they choose who goes there and makes their own rules, and are not held acountable. Enough said. Public schools takes everyone that is required to go there, teachers are held acountable weather the kids are there or not. Raped the night before, beaten, not fead, homeless, or whatever, it does not matter when it comes to statistics. By the way Notre Dame prepared the kids they allowed to go there, easy job in my book. Just like third world countries, you have to meet a certian criteria to be able to be educated. Great thing about public schools in America, we try to educate everyone. Some get it some do not, at least they get the chance in a free country. How people do not see what concervitives want to do blows my mind.
Funny thing is maybe you should get what you ask for.

Apparently spelling isn't taught in public schools.

If the employees are so dadburned smart, why don't they start their own business? Guess that's what seperates the employees from the owners,,, emoSmile
We are like the fish in the lake,,,one species, group, cannot survive without the other.Especially the bottom feeders (Dems)...Once a group starts to dissapear, some will follow, some will create other ways of survival.
It pays to own a fishing pole and a gun...if you're good at both. sometimes I wonder about my friends, and then again, choose wisely.

The higher the head count in a public school, the more $$$ they get from taxpayers. Waste is rampant in public schools, not in private schools.
If private, church, and home schools operated like the public sector, they would go under also. You don't perform, you get out, dummy.College, the same way, the prof's don't care if you pass, they get paid regardless. It's the sports teams that bring in the most money for schools/colleges.
I think I'll go back and get me a degree in public language, with a minor in litter pick-up, might get a Master's in thumb mashing on my balckberry. If none of that works, I can always sell drugs and make $100,000 year, tax free, before being shot down @ 24 years old, by a gang-banger.
White Folks were also slaves. Young boys were sold/rented out by thier fathers. Davey Crockett was a prime example, for you white folks that like to read "history books".
Some of you need to update your library card, if you've ever had one.Lets celebtate Columbus Day and kill a few million more, Central & South/North American Indians. After all; its just in the name of the Church, King,Gold,Land & Jewels.Who's going to miss a little of this & a little that.

That's why Republicans (the Party by the Rich and for the Rich) want to see it done. .

Typical lie from the left. Actually there are more rich demonrats than Republicans. Here is just the top ten richest politicians. We can play this game if you want and I can post the net worths of the congress and senate. Rich demonrats far out number rich Republicans. As usual your side has to rely on lies and class warfare to perpetrate their agenda.

Rank Politician (Party) Office or Campaign Net Worth
1 Michael R. Bloomberg (R) Mayor, New York $4.8 billion
2 Winthrop Rockefeller (R) Lt. Governor, Arkansas 1.2 billion
3 B. Thomas Golisano (Ind) Gubernatorial candidate, New York 1.1 billion
4 John Kerry (D) Senator, Massachusetts 550 million
5 Tony Sanchez (D) Gubernatorial candidate, Texas 500 million
6 Amo Houghton (R) Representative, New York 475 million
7 Jon S. Corzine (D) Senator, New Jersey 300 million
8 Herb Kohl (D) Senator, Wisconsin 250 million
9 Jay Rockefeller (D) Senator, West Virginia 200 million
10 Mark R. Warner (D) Governor, Virginia 200 million

Sources: Forbes, Roll Call

One more thing I saw on NBC nightly news just last night. Chelsea Clinton's wedding is costing over 2 MILLION DOLLARS. Yes I call hypocrite on the Clintons.
They could have had a pretty nice wedding for a measley $500K and donated the other $1.5 million to the poor. You guys kill me.

IMO This thread, and many others on here, help to prove my belief that 'classism' is what we're up against now. That isn't to say that racism isn't an issue now. There are plenty racist existing on both sides of the fence, but MONEY TALKS.
I believe that racism is a tool used by some. Most of those in power that don't give a s@#*t about poor/struggling blacks feel the same about whites in that situation. Racism has been used for centuries as a tool to deceive. For example: The Bible teaches Cristian America that to keep people inslaved is wrong, so at the start of the 'slave drive' people were lead to beleive that the African slaves were 3/5 of a human. Therefore making it OK to inslave them because they are not really 'people'. And that, i beleive, was the birth of racism as we know it....a tool that was used by those who stood to make a profit.
Don't vote Dem because they are for minorities, don't vote Reb cause they are for the whites. emoBang Racism is kept alive by those who benefit from the seperatism of the average American. And for centuries, we've all been dupted into doing the Devil's deed.
Just my opinion

YOUR WRONG! I think anyway. Didnt Bloomberg leave the Republican party?

I've seen those polls, and you can go either way...ASK.com
Keep m'em down & you can control 'em.. educated people are hard to take down.
I does not matter who is the RICHEST,,,what's that tell you,,,anything??
You are caught in a slat trap and can't find your way out..shouldn't have been a bottom feeder to start with.
It's like a prominent Chatta attorney told me. "I can walk around the block and file 4 law suits against the city and people." "He who makes the rules, does not have to play by them"..that's my quote
go educate yourself from a public library, not by Jon Stewart , Whoopie Goldberg & Rosie O'Donald.

Well buddy you should argue with Mr. Forbes. I copied and pasted this like any good Republican would. Even if Bloomberg was a Republican he was a RINO. IMO a RINO is worse than any demonrat.

That is the typical response I get when things hit home. Maybe I should have used another word for conservitives, hypocrite is the first that comes to mind.

What part of I have had experiences in both private and public schools do you not understand? Maybe I should use another word for Liberal. Progressive, Statetist, Socialist, Marxist, Communist should I keep going.

Nope, didn't hit close to home. I did go to a private school, Notre Dame in fact. Also, since we weren't funded by the state, we had crap for sports equipment, out dated desks, etc...heck we didn't even have our own football field. The reason I said what I said was the amount of spelling errors in the post, period. Yes public schools have to take everyone and unfortunately they teach to the lowest level in the class, smart kids get bored and fed up pretty quickly.

You guys got off the subject, but: government educated kids are getting what the tax payers are shelling out. $$$
It started when forced bussing went into effect, especially in Chatta. I knew the boss at that time, he's passed over now, and the skinny was:::::drop the standards, so they can all be "equal, and catch up." I don't think all kids caught up, even though it has been about 48 years(?) and that is still an issue. Some teachers are a lot like some parents, they just don't care. It's a baby sitting institution funded by government $$$, and if you attend for 12 years you get a cettificate...now is that fair? According to the Democrats who instituted that program, it is, and when I was attending, you failed and it was supposed to be demoralizing, some it did, others went to reform school, or the military. The place for rejects was a place that either straightened you out or else..It was your choice.
Now it's a Nanny State and all for all or nothing, everyone gets a trophy. But that ain't real life, even though we are the Gate Keepers.

Eyeman, I have to disagree. Granted, there are some teachers who don't care and are there collecting paychecks, but I believe you do our educational services and teachers an injustice painting them with such a broad brush. As a rule, I think they do a good job with what society today has given them for tools and restrictions. We are the ones responsible for our children's attitudes (for the most part). I don't know the answer, but I believe the problems became much worse when both parents had to go to work to support the family, and there is no one now to impress attitudes upon the children except TV - and we all know what attitudes they are learning there.
