When people insult you because you follow Christ, you are blessed.

1 Peter 4:14

The true children of God are those who let God's Spirit lead them.

Romans 8:14

Do everything without complaining or arguing.

Philippians 2:14

"See, I have written your name on my hand."

Isaiah 49:16

At our Keys High School football game this week, my grandaughter, Jordyn, got into one of her "Grandpa Autograph" modes. She was having me sign programs, paper cups, and anything else she could find. Of course, she had all of her little friends doing the same. When they ran out of things, they proudly presented their hands. I obliged by signing with a permanent marker and now have several moms mad at me, including my daughter-in-law.
Think about having your name written on the hand that formed you, the hand that created the oceans. You can't get any more special than that. Just think, God looks down and sees your name right there every day.

Tip: Larger line works better on a Pop R or Zara Spook.

Love patiently accepts all things. It always trusts, always hopes, and always remains strong.

1 Corinthians 13:7

Fishing is a participation sport. Over sixty million Americans fish. Some of these sixty million like to fish, but most LOVE to fish. Those of us who love fishing patiently endure whatever the sport throws at us. Bad weather, bad lakes, bad partners, and even the dreaded "lockjaw" when the fish refuse to bite. We still love, we still hope.
God has commanded us to love each other no matter what. He did not recommend we love or suggest we love--He commanded it. With this godly love comes huge commitments to each other, and this commitment includes forgiveness. If you harbor anything in your mind that requires forgiveness, do it right now. For love to remain strong it must accept all things, including wrong, and forgive.

Tip: Use desiccant packets in your tackle box to help eliminate moisture and prevent rusty hooks.

"If you do things well, I will accept you, but if you do not do them well, sin is ready to attack you. Sin wants you, but you must rule over it."

Genesis 4:7

The elements play a big part of any day's fishing. Most of the perfect days occur when we have to work and can't go fishing. Wind, rain, hot, cold, high water, low water, muddy, clear . . . every situation can pose a problem. The better fisherman you become, the more you will be able to use different circumstances for your benefit.
God expects us to excel. He wants us to succeed and do things well in every circumstance. He will not abandon us when we don't do as well as we should, but He does give a warning. When we goof off, sin will be there to pounce on us. We either rule over sin with God's help, or sin will rule over us. Is there something you can do today for God's benefit or for others? Go out and do it.

Tip: Wind direction will predictably position bass on structure or cover.

This one is one of my favorite. God loves each one of us the same. How awesome is that! The thing that blows me away the most is He sees my heart and loves me the same.

"But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8

"Follow me and I will make you fishers of men" Matthew 4:19

We as Christian anglers can relate to this verse. We are called to be fishers of men to the world. God loves us so much He created the greatest outdoor sport for us to enjoy while we do His work! Isn't He awesome.

Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.

Mark 11:24 NIV

The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.

John 1:14 NIV

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

John 1:1 NIV

I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and wages war. His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his head are many crowns. He has a name written on him that no one knows but he himself. He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God.

Revelation 19:11-13 NIV

I and the Father are One.

John 10:30 NIV

Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father.

John 14:9

Theologians refer to this as The Incarnation.

Did I not tell you that if you believe, you will see the glory of God?

John 11:40 NIV

Jesus Christ

The Bible tells us that he wasn't just another philosopher or religious teacher; he was God in human flesh. Think of it! God became a man! This is what we celebrate at Christmas. Billy Graham

Go to the ant, you sluggard; consider its ways and be wise! It has no commander, no overseer or ruler, yet it stores its provisions in summer and gathers its food at harvest. How long will you lie there, you sluggard? When will you get up from your sleep? A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest -- and poverty will come on you like a bandit and scarcity like an armed man.

Proverbs 6:6-11 NIV

Isaiah 7:14 NIV

The Birth of Jesus
1 In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world. 2 (This was the first census that took place while[a] Quirinius was governor of Syria.) 3 And everyone went to their own town to register.
4 So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David. 5 He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child. 6 While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, 7 and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them.

8 And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. 9 An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. 10 But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. 11 Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. 12 This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”

13 Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying,

14 “Glory to God in the highest heaven,
and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”

15 When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let’s go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.”

16 So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger. 17 When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, 18 and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them. 19 But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart. 20 The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told.

21 On the eighth day, when it was time to circumcise the child, he was named Jesus, the name the angel had given him before he was conceived.

Luke 2:1-21 NIV
