For those of you who do not know. Wal-Mart changed their battery policy. The no longer have the 24 month pro rated warranty. I had to replace one of my trolling motor batteries and the new battery only has 12 month replacement.

fishinvol - 4/8/2011 1:48 PM Their batteries are only good for about 12 months anyway, guess they figured that out.

Got 3 years on mine and still hold a great charge.

I have the same issue right now. Called WalMart and they told me 18 months from the day you bought it. The ones I buy are maxx 29 I think thats what they are called. Strong batteries and hold charge well. But every year I have one that will go down and thats even keeping the water level right in them.

Have only great things to say about everstart and walmart... Went in there Wend and they were supper nice had a cranking battery i got last year and it wouldn't hold a charge. They replaced it without cost. Have two trolling batters that are going on 6 years and hold a great charge still.

I wondered the same thing about the Wal-mart brand. My friend calls them "never starts" :) I am actually in the market for a new deep cycle trolling battery. Anybody have a recommendation other than Wal-mart brand ?

I've switched to sears marine batteries ( not sure of the actual name), and have had no issues. Never have come close to running the batteries down and I run everything but the starter from my trolling batteries. Had them almost two years. I haven't charged my boat in over a week and I bet they are still near full charge.

go to the interstate store.it is on shallowford rd.get their blems about 50 bucks a piece.had good luck with them.

The sears (DieHard)PM series are great batteries but they are pricey and a little on the heavy side. I switched to Delco Voyager batteries last year and for the money I don't think you can beat them. I bought 2 of the 29's and they perform as well or better than the Deka M series 31's they replaced. We fished all day last Saturday in the wind and current and I didn't run them down. The Delco's are around 100.00 each.

Mine was in my boat when i got it 3 years ago and they are still running strong. I think the life of a batteries is how and when you charge them.

I was at my fathers (Florida) and he brought two batteries back that wouldn't hold a charge over night. The woman behind the counter told him she had to check them first to determine if they were bad. Never seen this before at walmarts, but she put a "device" on the first battery and after a few seconds told my father the battery was fine, just needed a charge. I seen the veins coming out in his 76 year old neck. I asked the woman if it was performing a load test, voltage test, amperage,etc.., and she said she had no idea. Same thing with the second battery, said it was fine. I put those batteries on the charger night before, knew they were charged and this was for a 24 volt tractor with no shorts bcause there is nothing electrical on it other than the starter. Charger checked out when we got back home, will never get another battery there and I have 3 in my boat now and already replaced two of them within a year.

Yes they are very good batteries...cant beat $50 that's tax included.

I had 5 Interstate's replace in less that 4 years. The pro rated cost was about as much as a new battery. I'll never buy them again! Buy Sears Platinum, Optimax, or Delco.

I'm still running my optima blemish batteries at 80.00 each this is the third year no problems and my van batteries are 3 years old also. I own 7 optimas and they are still going strong.
