First I want to give a big thanks to James & Wes for working me in on short notice so I can enjoy my week of vacation on the lake, instead of being stuck at home twiddling my thumbs.

(Update 10/8/11- confirmed that my water pressure gauge was reading a low number even at WOT)

After a couple of months of waiting for gel coat work and new upholstery to be completed on my new to me used boat, I was able to take the boat back on the water to check the water pressure out.

( a previous concern at idle, a not sure at WOT )

As it turns out the water pressure was at 5 lbs at idle and did not increase with RPMs or even at WOT. I didn't hear any alarms going off, and it seemed to be peeing okay but I was still concerned. I took it easy and went back to the ramp, loaded the boat then called James. James worked me in the next day

James had Wes ready to go to work on it soon as I got there. James and Wes determined that the water pressure line going to the gauge as well as the gauge were stopped up with grime, sand & yucky stuff. Turns out that the gauge bit the dust and will have to be replaced. Next procedure was to replace the water pump even though the previous owner of the boat told me that he replaced the water pump back in the spring. Replacing the water pump again turned out to be a great move as the gasket on the plate had blown. it appears whoever replaced the water pump last time didn't replace the gasket....not good..

I asked James to run a compression & leak down test so I would know the state of my engine health just for my piece of mind. (I know, I should have done before I purchased the boat)

I was lucky as It turn out okay and I have an engine with pretty good health.

Thanks again James & Wes for working me in , and for saving my vacation. You are much appreciated !

Great Job!
