The winners are:

Stringer:
Davo and Stump Jumper (3 fish) - 11.1 lbs
Saltwatts and Mrs. Saltwatts (2 fish) - 6.8 lbs (Mrs. Saltwatts caught them all)
Jmax and CCSM (1 fish) - 3.8 lbs

Big Fish:
Mrs. Saltwatts - 5.2 lbs (smallmouth)
Davo - 4.9 lbs (smallmouth, had another one at 4.3 lbs)
Jmax - 3.8 lbs (largemouth)

These were the only three boats that weight in any keepers. Georgous day on the water and good day to get to meet some of the other members.

JTF and MrWiskers Report:
We put a slick each in the boat. That is it for our 7 hours of fishing. We fished everywhere with everything. It was still nice to hit my old home lake and get to hang out with JTF.

RE: Watts Bar CFF Tourny Results

It was fun MR. wiskers, I just wish we could have boated a keeper...but that's fishing. I enjoyed the tourny and finally meeting the elusive Snuffy. I hope you guys enjoyed my home lake, and i seems it was more productive for some of you than it was for Wiskers and I....but that is alright, we will be the ones to beat on the Chick Sept 30. I am going to practice for this one so Wiskers and I will get a CFF win

Wow, the Bar really has some good smallies! Was there any flow today or what seemed to be the problem? I know that the lake isn't well known to many of us but I was thinking that Watts Bar was a quality fishery. I would expect that it would be tough to fish a lake that you hadn't had much time to explore. I would expect that you guys had a great time anyway.

The flow was running backward. They must have been raising the lake. The main lake areas that I used to fish don't work unless the current is flowing forward so they were a bust. That is my excuse for my holes not producing.

JTF will have to try and make an excuse for his honey holes.emoPoke

Me and CCSM had a good time and caught some fish just not the right size. I think we got nine in the boat and lost a couple others. CCSM caught two smallies in our boat but not 18 inches.:( The one good one I got to stay on was on a spook Jr. and it exploded on it early in the fog. That one fish was worth the trip for me, came completely out of the water and got me shaking so bad it was like buck fever. I thought it was bigger than it was. We tried several areas but the best for us was main lake points and it was where there was a drop in the bank. Most of ours came on worms in june bug and in pumkinseed/chartruse tail. Very nice day on the water.

One thing that held us back was we had the cap on my engine oil tank break and we had to stay on the dam end of the lake. There was a couple places we would have liked to have gone but was afraid we would not get back with the oil leaking so bad.emoBang

Thanks JTF,

Enjoyed the TX. Wished my results had been better. We didn't get skunked but the three small ones we had didn't total one that Davo had :( It was a great day....weather perfect.....good people to fish with.

One of the highlights was getting my order of TR19 cranks......These things are gorgeous! Just loved them. These things were so pretty that I was cautious with them. Lost one crank in a tree and didn't want to lose one of these. Did fish several of them and they are run perfect and have great action. I highly recommend them.

Davo had to show out again! Looks like a fun time. Wish I had been there but had a club Tx. Never fished the bar before, but those big smallie pics may change that!

Congratulations, to the winners......
Davo and stump jumper must have had it going.... that weight with just 3 fish....I would have thought you all would have caught lots of fish today.... Best time for the BAR .... first 2 weeks in Oct..... spinner bait heaven....

Sounds like everyone had fun. Those are some really nice pisc too. Thanks for having the tourny JTF. I wish I could have been there but again...work prevails..emoHoppingmad Maybe some day.
Congrats to all who fished and to the winners too!. Good job folks!emoThumbsup

As a sidenote and you can take it for what it`s worth.....on our first stop... and I`ll say it was above Iron Hill island ... a guy pulled up and it looked like he wanted our spot so he went around the the other side of the island (lot of islands above Iron Hill) and came up to us on the other side of the piece of structure we were sitting on (we were catching some fish so we weren`t giving it up)...Got to talking to him a little and he said he was looking for stripers ( he was looking in a good spot ..I caught 3 there last spring during a club tx)...also said he caught a 10 1/2 lb LM the day before down the lake.....while drifting shad for stripers!!

And for you Striper (no not strippers TT... rockfish) guys... he said he caught 25 stripers below Ft Loudon dam the day before....I asked him if they were any size and said 18-20 pounds...just a little info for those whose chase `em !!

I get frustrated when TVA doesn't produce flow for me too Snuffy. It really changes things. I'm sorry to hear about your boat Jmax. I hope that it will be something that will be easily rectified.

The bar strikes again! So much for JTF's homelake advantage:( I really wish I could have made this one,I love that lake but I haven't been up there in a couple of years now.

Congrats on the win Davo and Stumpjumper! Until you guys got back to the ramp, it was looking like Mrs. Saltwatts was going to run away with it. We boated 10 fish yesterday, but only the two keepers--the big smallie and one LM that barely kept. And yes, she caught both keepers. Of course, my net skills were a critical part of our success. emoBigsmile

I did have one fish that I thought was a monster hook up on a DD14, but when I got it boat side, I saw it was foul hooked, and it ended up not even keeping. Other than that, I had two other short smallies on a 4" finesse worm. My wife fished all day with a 4" watermelon senko.

We both had a great time, and really enjoyed meeting everyone. Hope to get a chance to fish with some of you again soon!

I've got a few more pictures from the tx. I'll post them as soon as I get a little more time.

Congrats to Davo and Stump Jumper, that was a real nice pair of Smallmouth. And also to Mrs. Saltwatts, that was even a nicer one. Thanks to Snuffy for showing me some places that I know will produce some good fish on a better day. He showed me some great Smallmouth water. We each caught about 4 fish. I think mine were all Smallies. We had 2 that were about 16 inches, had a couple hit on top. Just couldnt find any size. It was a great day, not too warm, overcast most of the day. I am ready to get back up there for the fall bite. Good to see yall and to meet new folks too.
