The bar strikes again! So much for JTF's homelake advantage I really wish I could have made this one,I love that lake but I haven't been up there in a couple of years now.
Sorry to be so late posting, but work always calls!!!! First congrats to Davo and SJ those were beautiful fish! Also for reminding us that often you don't have to run far, just be in the right place at the right time. Congrats to Saltwatts and Ms. Saltwatts. Awesome smallmouth for sure!!!! It was great to see everyone and to meet some new members. I used to fish the Bar several times a year, but hadn't been on it for at least the last 4 or 5 years. Thanks to Jmax as usual for his expert boat handling and great fellowship. I enjoyed seeing him catch the one keeper we had and he really was shaking after I netted it. It is great that the excitement of a good fish never gets old! As Jim said, we were somewhat limited due to the problem with the oil leaking out of his engine. I felt like I was on the "Jmax Valdez"!!!!! I had a great time and enjoyed catching the two small smallies that I managed to land. Man those things sure do pull! We didn't catch enough numbers of fish to really say what a pattern was, but most of our fish came off worms and lizards fished slow in deep water, except the one keeper that came in about 3 or 4 foot of water on a spook. Jmax amazes me with his ability with a top water plug!
Yep, Watts Bar strikes agian . Me and RangerRob caught several bass but no keepers . Fished humps and main river points with the bass that we caught coming on c-riged lizards ,craws and worms . Lost a good one on a 1oz sb and one on a craw . Thanks RR had a great time . Congrads to Davo and Stump Jumper on their win and Mrs. Saltwatts on her big smallmouth . Saltwatts , I know how you feel . My wife has spanked me fishing too !

The other boat pic is of the "Jmax Valdeez"
Unfortunately, I don't think anyone got any pics of any of the LM's that were caught. We should have had someone take a photo of the whole group too, but I didn't think of it.
Anyways, it was nice to finally put some faces with names. Looking forward to the next one!
Looks like everyone had a great time. Congrats to Davo for the win and Ms. Saltwatts on the big fish. Wish I could have been at the weigh in but we had a birthday party at Chester Frost.
Yepper that is her. That was a lot of oil coming out of my engine. I lost almost two gallons of oil and after cleaning it up yesterday I can say it has been heavily oiled down now.emoLaugh The oil actually made it look cleaner than it has looked in years. I had a lot of fun other than that and thanks JTF for putting it on.emoThumbsup Jmax
Congratulations Davo, Stump Jumper on the 3 fish. . . . 11.1 that is a sack in anybody's boat. That is knocking 19- 20 lbs on a 5 fish average. And Mrs. Saltwatts what a fish, beautiful smallie, although it wasn't too small. I must say I am envious but happy for ya!
I joined your forum a couple of weeks ago and have been reading your discussions and fishing reports. It is truly the next best thing to being there. Man, to me to just catch a 12" smallie would be great, never caught one before, but to think of the possibility of one the size you'll weighed in!!!!!!!!!!!! Beyond my widest dream!! GREAT JOB! And just think it was having fun doing it!
I got confussed I reckon I thought it was this weekend my son and I are coming up to the Chick but it is actually the next weekend for a Saturday, Sunday and Monday fishing trip. With the pictures of those smallies it is sure tempting to stray on up to the Watts!!
Actually never having been on the Chick or Watts, just catching some keeper lm will be great and keeper smallie will be a blessing.
This is a great forum you have going. Find myself anticipating just reading your comments and reports although my time on a computer is limited a lot of days. But it is certainly something I look forward to.
