I'm not real sure why it's not a state law for kayakers to wear one. Sad sad deal. Guy was only 27.

It's not a requirement. Look up the twra rules on flotation devices....

My 6 yo daughter fell out of the boat yesterday unexpectedly. After a split second of panic, she bobbed to the surface and we had a good laugh. That’s how all spills at the lake go if you are wearing your PFD.

I was fishing at Soddy yesterday. Six other kayaks were there, I was the only one wearing a vest. The scary part is some were small children in sit in kayaks.
