Total Length (in inches)-squared, times girth (in inches) divided by 1200. Makes it 8.13lb I've caught a couple that were that long that were 8.25. There was a really long one last night weighed in last night but it was 7lb 14oz. post spawn - summer bass just don't have those thick bellies like the pre spawners</p>

Digital scales are cheap, and give instant satisfaction. My .02$

14 year old boy caught it from the bank while at his grandmothers house. It was released alive.
 
The length x girth x girth / 800 method works best on bass-shaped fish, and gives a better accounting for differences in girth (pre-spawn vs. post-spawn for example). Good estimator for those fish that you just cannot weigh.
