My buddy and I saw 5 deer swimming across coon creek on the "G" this past friday. We thought it would be an interesting phone call to have to call the insurance office and explain how we hit a herd of deer with the boat.

My old fishing partner and I came within inches of hitting a deer durring a night tx as it was crossing the cut in Patton Island. How would you explain that to the insurance man?!

I really dig the bear pics.

I agree that the deer have made through millions of years of evolution and several ice ages by being smart and adaptive. As for how they keep warm, their hair is hollow so there is a layer air between their body and the elements also, anyone who has killed a deer in the rain can attest to how well their coat repels water, and dries quickly. Most animals can swim well, deer and bear are no exception! Cool thread!

I once saw Wormhook swim 100 feet to scare a Blue Herron off of the weed bed he was fishing! The family on the pontoon boat really wished he had left his clothes on though!
