What are you doing to get ready for your new tournament season?

I just ordered 8 new Curados, need 1 or 2 more to be set. Cleaned out a bunch of stuff that I just didn't use, and probably still have a couple hundred more lures to get rid of. I've been stocking up on new lures at a disgusting rate so the only excuse I will have will be my utter lack of fishing talent.

I wouldn't mind getting back in Tx. fishing. I do know if you want to be sucessful you have to get serious and don't know if I can find the time. It takes away from my first love Smallmouth fishing. I use to fish the National Smallmouth Trail but it's long gone. I also use to fish the PBF but they have illiminated a couple of lakes I was comfortable on.
Plan on fishing some at the G this year, I fish year round so I keep my boat on ready.

You all are too organized. I've been painting a few cranks, pouring a few jigs, and buying lots of stuff that I mostly don't need and probably won't use (still in plastics bags that I've thrown in one of the compartments of the boat, whichever is the least full). The same tackle that was in my boat on my trip to Guntersville last October is still in there, and I haven't respooled anything with new line yet either. Nothing like staying up until 2am the night before a tournament messing with boat and tackle and drinking a few cold ones, having the alarm go off at 330am after a few quick winks of sleep, and waking up to a half gallon of coffee and the sweet smell of 2-stroke oil in the pre-dawn marina air...

Oh yeah, I did order new seats for the boat so whoever rides with me doesn't get a wet butt from all the water that's absorbed into the existing ones over the years, not to mention the full bottle of chartreuse dip-n-dye that Nickajack Angler spilled on them emoPoke. It was well worth seeing him the next couple days with yellow legs and crocs, smelling like a 200lb sack of garlic...

Well said bro! That sums it all up right there.

Unless, of course, you're neighbors with Churly and then it happens every damn night...

Hey when Davo decides to sell his curados I want some of them.... :)

I went through all my tackle and rearranged it and added a new rod and reel to the arsenal...

I will 2nd that. I still have everything tied on that I used in our classic last Oct. too. I did order 6 new reels( Davo makes me jealous). But I do plan on servicing all of my reels and respooling, I have GOT to re organize my tackle.... Still have stuff in Sportsmans bags from the first tournament of the 2008 season. And I plan on getting it all done the night before our first tourny.... emoLaugh
