Looks like a pic of the moon to me emoPoke emoLaugh . Guess thats why I don't have one of those I wouldn't know what the heck I was lookin at.

It's a sunken tire reef on a point near a marina. You can see a few fishing hanging around and some logs laying on the bottom too.

Looks like giant reptile eggs to me. OMG! Could this be where Godzilla was before Matthew Broderick killed the beast? emoLaugh

Nice, I just bought the 898 and just got to use it one time, and already in love with it, even tho i dont know a whole lot about it yet. lol

I'm having trouble with interpreting the scale of this image. Since the water is only 8 feet deep, I would have expected tires to have appeared much larger. Thus I would never have come up with tires or logs. Thanks Doug.

With side imaging it's side to side coverage versus up and down coverage. We are looking at 200' of total coverage in the image, 100' to each side. That makes the tires smaller in apprearance since we are covering a large area to boath sides but in shallow water. That is the greatest benefite of Humminbird Side Imaging is the Side-to-Side Coverage Area. 2D Sonar 200kHz is 20° COverage or 1/3 of Depth in this image you would have seen only 2.76 Foot of coverage versus 200'. That's why this is the most powerful sonar technology.
