What did my Humminbird Side Imaging find?

This was from the 1198c which is a 10.4 inch but you can see the same date on the 998c - 8" Screen or 898c - 7" screen or the 798c 5" screen it's just compressed smaller.

Thanks again for all the input. Today we pulled the trigger and ordered: Hummingbird 998c SI Combo for the console and 798ci HD SI Combo for the front. We, Frogthrower (Tom May) and I, have decided to live with the transducer on the transom, giving up dual simultaneous readings from the side imaging option. To have both sides showing, you have to mount that transducer in hole in the hull in the very middle, which opens up more possible troubles with knocking it off loading or unloading, or scrapping it on the bottom in too shallow water. I am hoping we are satisfied with the installed ContourDX Maps. Any comments on those compared to the Nav. Premium Hot Maps? We will use the RAM Mount for the console mount, thanks for that advice. See you on the water!

What boat are you mounting on? Can you post an image of the transom? I can give you some suggestions. Contour XD is only 3000 Lakes in the USA they are older Navionics Data but may be good enough for you. If not you can always buy maps on SD card. Same thing with the shoot thru transducer and Y cable you can add it later if you decide to get on plane 2D readings.

The boat is TRACKER 17.5 Pro Team w/60 Merc. I am trying to attaching a transom hull view photo. You can see the current transducer position.

What's the top speed of that boat? SHould be able to mount in the location of the old transducer and get readings at speed. A Shoot thru hull (Epoxy in hull) won't work with Aluminum Boat unless you use a RadarSonics/Alumaducer.

The top speed of the boat is 38 mph if the motor is totally trimmed. Are there some limitations on speed and readings? Thanks for your help.

No but you can get all speed readings from the single transducer easier if you have a lower speed boat. I'd get a mounting a=board to make it easier to adjust the transducer to find the best place to get all readings.

Thanks Doug, the equipment arrived today. We will take it to the TRACKER dealer on 58 Hwy for installation, and its time for the 20 hour new motor check up, so the timing is good. They have been great folks to deal with, and Joe, our salesman could not have been nicer.
