Agree with DK, once again USC is the best team but they lost earlier in the year to a "mediocre" bowl game winner (who missed a late FG to lose to Utah). Therefore USC didn't deserve to be in the championship game. Sounds familiar to Florida's season, so it's a shame to see them get into the championship game over Utah. We won't see a playoff for many years, if ever, there is too much money involved with all the bowl games - we'll all be complaining again next year at this time.

IT doesnt matter about USC's performance on Thursday. They lost to a mediocre team earlier in the year. If you want to play for the national title don't lose to chump teams.

That mediocre team was in the Rose bowl until they lost their last game. Utah had to come from behind late to be that mediocre team. Every team is mediocre at least 1 or 2 times per year and you know that Craig. Utah just happened to have their mediocre games against really weak teams. Can't play that what if game. Doesn't work.

Maybe so but Utah (while they came from behind) beat them and USC didn't They also played in the mountain west which was better then playing in the PAC 10 this year according to the out of conference record. If either Utah or USC deserved to play for the national title it was Utah. in the end we need a playoff so we can see what the best team on the field is not the best team in the voters minds.

Yes, Utah got jobbed, USC didn't deserve to be in the title game because of their loss, neither does Florida because of their loss. Oklahoma / Texas is another story altogether but one or the other deserved to be in the title game. Will be more of the same next year and we'll all still be "arguing" over the next "mythical" national champion. BTW, the Pac 10 was 5-0 in bowl games this year.

I mentioned about this time last year. Alabama is still suffering from the recruiting restrictions from 4 or 5 years ago. And specially thin in the O LINE. I think they moved there starting RT to LT and he was terrible. and the guy that was brought in to play RT was even worse. I think there was one other injury also but the point is AL starters are pretty good but must not be anybody behind them.

I think Texas is so far overrated. Yea they squeaked by OcHokeO State but they are not even a top 25 team from what i have seen this year. Texas Tech beat texas in a shoot out. A literally who has the ball last, wins game. Did anyone notice that Texas Tech's mighty, great offense scored 14 on Ole Miss. the others were special teams and an INT return.

Oklahoma may deserve to be there, we will see. But no way Texas should be there.
