What lures did you buy this year that were disappointing?

Top bad lure - Vision 110 jerk bait - $25 bait, bill broke off on second small spot I caught on it. Got three more to break this year, ordered four at the time.

Close second - any Suddeth bait lately - loved their baits for years, now none run right.

I think a shad colored x-rap was the only new lure I bought this year that I didn't catch a fish or get a bite with, I caught ONE on a hedden spook, but it broke the dadblamed back treble off and it was about a 1 pound spot.

"I'm takin that stupid thing back TONIGHT!"

Still in my tackle box.

beetlespin - 12/23/2008 8:42 PM Tell that to fishinvol. He seems to think that only dummies fish jigs.

Don't believe those words ever came out of my mouth. Just not my cup of tea, some people love some don't. I am not a huge fan, but know for an absolute fact that it produces.emoEnforce </p>

Yes i keep throwing just never seem to produce.. gotta get some confidence in them jigs..I know Bass love them just not when they are on my rod lol

Strike sexy shad those things are garbage. They're cheap but they're junk!!!!!! never could get one to swim right.

I will say something about the chatterbait. I went to the BASS Nationals at Lake Norman, and I fished with a guy (finished top 5) who fished a chatterbait like I never seen. He would flip it between a boat and the dock and retrieve it just below the bottom of the dock. He only caught one on it, but once he seen something follow it, he would follow it up with a slow sinking jig or plastic. It was pretty cool. He also spent 2 years on the FLW tour as a boater... great guy, but it sucked to be behind him!

Strike King King Kong swimbait. Swims like a stick. Worst moving bait ever made and for the money one of the biggest rip offs ever. However I do like the King Shad and it got me a 6.6 lber this past spring.

There is a theme in many posts in this thread. That is, the best lure you can fish with is your confidence. I could not truly blame the bait if the fisherman has yet found the strategy in effectively using the bait. And I will not declare any bait a disappointment untill I have used it in every situation in many ways. My grandad has caught fish using those pull of tabs that would come off aluminum cans, my dad has caught catfish on ivory soap chunks. Stuff like that is really so off the wall you had to believe it would work. I can even remember alot of years back on a Bill Dance tv show when he was saying you had to have confidence in your lure and strategy. emoWorthy emoAngler
