What percentage of your fishing tackle purchases are made online?

Help Support Chattanooga Fishing Forum:

about 85% on line most of the rest from Sportsmans. Forget Cabela's - stuff on sale they don't have and don't substitute anything, really bad customer service. Bass Pro on occasion as long as it is basic things, too expensive on a lot of things.

Online almost always. T Warehouse and lately, Landbigfish. They are in KY and free shipping is 2 days with no tax. Big box sporting goods stores are WAY over priced IMO.

I buy most of my stuff online, probably 80% total, but I do still go to a few local places and pick up something I need for a trip in the next few days. Mostly Tacklewarehouse, sometimes landbigfish and have even ordered a few things directly from Mann's and a few other places. I live in Rome GA, so Bass Pro and Cabela's are a ways off, I only go there now if I know I need one specific thing and they are the only choice. I still like to hold a rod in my hands though before I buy it, and most of the time I want to put the reel on it I will use with it most times to feel the balance before I buy it.
I will say the few times I have been to the Bass Pro in Chattanooga it has been very disapointting, awful customer service, big sections of the fishing department just empty and the prices. I will say that I like your Cabela's pretty well, I got great customer service there, they let me put a reel on a rod to feel the combo and one employee up there searched sunglasses for 20 minutes trying to find something for me.

I would say I buy about 80% from Pro Lures in Dalton. He beats everyone's price online or not if you are a regular customer. He can be a cantankerous ol fart but once he gets to know you he gives really good deals. I hope he reads this too... I buy 19% from Academy and about 1% online. I am an impatient person... I want it NOW!!! I also like paying cash for pretty much everything I buy.

I buy all of my gear from "Striper Soup" in Acworth, Ga or "Big Fish Outfitters" in Lenoir City, only buying tackle online if neither one of these carry it.

They have a great selection, are competitive in price, are convenient to places I fish, and have always been helpful with current lake information.

I looked up Pro lures in Dalton and from what I saw on Facebook it seems to be a pretty cool store! I would love to check it out but the store hours are not very good. :(

That's exactly what i think. Price are cheaper and shipping is free. Online shopping is convenient and they just send all directly to my house.

Yea, I’ll join you in that corner. I’m an instant gratification kind of guy. If it’s not Cabela’s or BPS, it’s academy or sportsman’s warehouse.

I probably know what an instant gratification kind of guy feels. When I see others using some new techniques that I think could work, it kills me to wait days for it to arrive if buy it online. Only in this case i will drive to local shops for what i want. Otherwise i prefer to shop online.
IMO, everyone makes their own balance between online and offline purchasing.

I try to buy all my stuff at our local stores. I mean we finally got a few good stores so I'm gonna do my part to keep them here. But the hard to find lures or colors I will order online.

Half the fun of buying from Pro Lures is teasing Phil and listening to his nonsense. Lol
