I would like to know what type of pole you would use. Would you use a one piece or 2 piece pole? I would think that a one piece would be better. I would think it would be more sensitive and would be a better pole to get he fish in with more stability. I would like some opinions. When looking through Bass Pro they have many different styles in one or two piece.

It depends on what you are calling a two piece. The rods that break down in the middle of the rod via a ferule connector are handy for travel and storage but do lack some in sensitivity. Rods that break down by sliding into the butt section are as sensitive as their one piece counter parts. I fish three8 ft rods that slide and I love every one of them. Breaking down makes them much easier to travel with and storage in most rod boxes is simpler.

I have stopped using/ buying two-piece poles because after a while I have found that the joint gets loose. When yousling a bait for a long cast, the joint will loosen and you'll cast the top of the rod with your bait!

That is the reason I asked the question. I have always felt that they would come apart or worse break at the joint when you had a big one on the hook. I have one that is 2 piece and I superglued it together because the guides would turn out of alignment.

Great minds think alike!lol I superglue my 2 piece rods together when they start getting too loose. That is, if I dont loose the end on a cast before I get to glue it! emoDoh

The sensitivity and strength have more to do with what fibers it is made of. When the ferule is wedged in right the vribrations communicate through it. Join the ferule, hold the rod normally and barely tap the tip on a hard surface to get a feel of its sensitivity.
