Check out the custom blank that Lamiglas and I developed for cranking. It is 7' and has the flex in the tip and backbone to move the fish.
Drop by my shop and try it out.

i throw 22s and 30s on a 7ft 6 in. launcher made by castaway. on 10lb fire line that is 4lb diameter . i use a carudo 6.2.1 i like to get my bait to bottom quick and then slow down my retreive that way i cover more ground .

Get a custom crankin rod from FA, Coach, or John Miles. Mass produced rods are for chuckleheads. emoBigsmile
YUP.

I would check out that Lammy blank of coach's if I was in the market. My personal rod is a custom spiral wrapped on a pre-Shakespeare All-Star popping blank (titanium model I believe) with an old curado 201 in 3.8:1 ratio.

There are 2 requirements for best combo: 1st, whatever fits the budget, get the best you can afford so not to second guess, 2nd, feel the combo while shopping, which ever feels best at tackle store will also feel good on the H2O. Reelem in.........

With the Allpro, I've had no issues with it twisting or turning when playing a fish. Its a long rod, will take some getting use to but to me ( everyone has there opinions) I've had a better hookup ratio since using it. I used glass rods for years and lost too many fish. Second the lower gear ratio, I use an old Lews speed spool I think is 4:3.1. Good ol Bbass can probably put you in right direction for one.

I just recently got an 8ft Airrus Co-Matrix 457 that is medium light. I have to say that for medium crankbaits, I absolutely love the rod. It's a lot more sensitive than I thought it would be. DD22's are a bit overpowering for it and I kinda wish I'd have gotten a MH.

I just got an Airrus Puls-R for my deep cranks. It's 7'3" medium heavy. They usually sell for 200+, but Delo's is selling them for 149.00. Pretty good deal.

For those of you sick of seeing this thread, sorry, but I'm gonna beat this dead horse some moreemoLaugh. Has anyone tried the Dobyns line? Particularly the 805CB? These were designed for Western anglers who sling DD22s all day.</p>

Jason, I think thats it. It has good action in the tip. Don't have to use alot of effort to sling a big crank out. I have thrown the big FF shads, 22's, 20+, and 30+ with it. 20+ no problem, but what rod isn't over powered using a 30+. The tip bends maybe half way down the rod instead all the way to the handle like alot the glass rods.
