Ok it's been done before on here but who has the very best hamburger or cheese burger and hot dog in town? I'm a huge fan of both and don't really trust or believe the newspapers vote. Where do you like to roost after a days fishing?

Not really in town, but right now WinBob's in Dunlap is my favorite. Me and the wife go over there from time to time just for a good burger. I guess Green Pond grocery near Soddy is my favorite for over here right now - maybe your thread will find me a new one!

damn i live just across the hill from green pond grocery and i didn't know they sold burgers.all i do is gas the boat up there and pay at the pump.hadnt bought gas for a while but when i did i got it there it was 100% gas.

i haven't been there in a while but the little bar off signal mtn. road going to red bank.i am sure the name will pop up by some one.yummy

Merv's and it's good too

It's hard to find a good burger, with real meat it in it and not a bunch of fillers. I like Countryside on Mahan Gap. I also like Kevin Brown's. Ken's Diner on Hwy 58 makes a decent burger too. I really like the bacon cheese burger at Cracker Barrel if they don't over cook it, which they do about 50% of the time! Honestly no place is a real stand out for me. I look for hand patted burgers, not the frozen formed type. Plus, I'll never understand why, in the middle of tomato season, lots of folks use those dang hard, tomatoes from Florida

I am going to have to agree with most of FF's post, if I just had to have one, Id go to those places, but nobody does a real burger anymore. They make them so thin to speed cooking, and formed ahead of time, blah!
A real burger should be thick, and let to cook, not smashed down!

agree, win bob's makes a awesome burger, try the wide glide or the fat boy cheese burger, if anyone goes. been a customer for 35 + years. emoTongue emoThumbsup

Ok, I'm back home now. I couldn't wait to get in the house (we did carry out). I told my wife the bag is heavy and grease is soaking through the sack!!!!! I pulled the double cheeseburger from the sack, rolled up my sleeves to give room for the greasy deliciousness to run down my arms.....I had to squeeze down on the burger to get it in my mouth....one bite and it was on!!!! The bun falling apart with stuff falling out as I slowly and methodically ate my way to pure happiness. Awesome burger - definitely has green pond beat (although they are still good for up our way). May have caught them at a bad time, but the fries were just ok. The homemade chips they have are good though. Looking forward to more suggestions as another road trip may be in our near future!!!! emoHungry emoHungry
