Where is kevin browns? I am assuming on the harrison side of the river based on the people commenting on it but it would be nice to know for sure where.

Charlie's Restaurant Lounge in Soddy has a good burger, I think alot of folks over look the place since it's a "Bar", but they have a non-smoking section if you like and do to go orders, one of the best burgers around in my opinion.

Kevin B is somewhere off of ooltewah/Georgetown Rd. I dunno where tho.

LOOKED again.....at Mahan Gap & Ooltewah-Georgetown.

loc doc is right. Old Plantation on Dodson Ave. Been eating their chopped shoulder samich and hot dogs since it was on 9th street. And Griffins foot long hot dogs made by Mrs. Griffin herself were awesome. And the're still good. It's their relish.

Is that the Old Plantation that was on MLK by the old railroad trestle? I used to eat there frequently in the early 80's but went to work in Cleveland for almost 20 years and when I came back downtown it was gone.

I see no one has tried Old Plantation BBQ for there Hot Dogs If you get a chance you need to try them they are good

The only one I new of was on Hixson pk and Dodson Ave But after you said that remember
as a kid my parents would go to MLK or 9th st and buy BBQ

Griffiths hot dogs used to have a place on 58. I would take the workers some fish, every once in a while. YEP...got dogs for fish. The good ol'days.

Yes it is. Went there bout '67 and '68. Then headed to the Malibu on the other side of the trestle. Wonder how many know what the Malibu was.

The Malibu is news to me. I had an old fellow tell me about a bar on N Market back in the 40's called The Bloody Bucket. Said if you didn't have a gun when you went in they let you borrow one. Anybody been there?

i haven't been there in a while but the little bar off signal mtn. road going to red bank.i am sure the name will pop up by some one.yummy
I think you might be talking about mervs

Merves's is great, so is Chubby's. When it comes to BBQ the Plantation on Dodson Ave and Nooga on Signal Mtn. Rd. are my favorites. As for Hotdogs, the late mrs. Griffin had the best by far but the folks that tried the franchizes couldn't duplicate her hotdogs good enough to stay in business. Really a shame.

The old Kay's Kastle used to have the best hot dog around and the Chow Now had the best burger called plenty burger. The Rebel drive in was awesome too but just like Griffins all good things must end emoBawl
