Here is the storage page out of the 2 stroke manual I have. Hoepfully this will help you guys out. It is pretty much the same for all models. I also have manuals on optimax and 4 strokes, If I get time I will do the same for those. These are for most 90-up engines. It will also be the same for alot of engines. It is some pretty basic things. Here they are......

I found the best way to protect my Merc was to put it in the water and go fishing at least every other weekend during winter. Works great ! emoBigsmile emoEvil emoBigsmile

Thanks James for putting the info out there to help out.

Yes, There are many products for this....CRC is "engine stor" for one. It comes in a 12 OZ can, can with a hose and a gallon container. It is also refered to a fogging oil....

Out of my book..... It is $5.50 for a 12 oz can, $7.10 for can with a hose, or $32.50 for the gallon. You can get the cans at harbor freight that you put the chemical in and the use compressed air and make your own aerosol can of it and it can be reusued many times.

May find it cheaper on the net....

I have an 86 Mercury 135 Black Max it should be about the same as the restof the engines listed. How can you protect the engine for winter and still be able to go fish some? emoScratch

It is the same as these........If you are going to use it all winter. I would change the lower unit fluid to ensure no moisture and it will not freeze. After you pull it out of the water DO NOT START it like you see some people do. This does nothing but damages the water pump. Simply pull it out and trim it down. The mercury V-6 has many drains and will completly drain all the water out in just a few minutes. Also install stabil in the fuel to keep it from going bad. Hope this helps.....

was just basically asking if it was a good brand sorry for the that lol
