I started not to even post a report...but we did get out yesterday and enjoyed the beautiful day that god gave us! A good freind of mine has a son that will going into the armed forces in a couple months and he wanted to go try to catch him a big ol cat. Well we launched the new to us pontoon at grasshopper and fished from there all the way to the hiwassee and came up with ONE 22lb blue and a few bluegill. I saw that the cats have seemingly became scarce down around the nuke plant so I decided to go try it around mid lake and they have seemingly dissappeared there also! We had alot of fun though. The new pontoon is running great and she is set up just for Big cats!! I will post some pics on here soon of the boat. We are putting some finishing touches on her and ive got a few loose ends to tie up and it should be done...for now!! But its fishable and takes to the water just fine! Im wondering if the cats arent getting ready to do that lovin thing a little early this year. We did go out last weekend just for a few hours and caught 5 in the 20 to 30 lb range in some shallow water. Didnt really try the shallow water yesterday and that may have been the trick?? emoScratch Bait was skipjack...water temp was 66...and the flow was very slow...which could be another contributing factor to the slow bite as well. Wont be long we will be out there with Spur and Heath J ...snakehandling.....oops..I mean grabbling!!! emoParty emoLaugh emoLaugh
