The first event of the 2010 CBA season will be on February 27 at Chester Frost Park. The officers have worked hard to put together another great season. We are very excited to announce the CBA "YOUTH DIVISION"! This is how it will work; a youth division team consist of one adult and one youth (16 years or younger). Youth division teams will compete amongst each other as well as among the other anglers, just like how the new team points work. The highest finishing youth division team in each event will earn free entry into the next event. But here's the kicker-youth division teams will pay half of an entry fee!!! That means $60! So now it is affordable for you to fish a tx season in your hometown, while giving a local youth an opportunity to get into this great sport. This youth division is NOT being funded by any corporate sponsor but by the officers and other memebers of the CBA. This is an idea I have had for a while and I hope you guys will grab your son, daughter, neighbor, or any other youngster and get them out on the lake with us. We will have other prizes, gifts, and awards for all of the kids who participate.

We also have the "New Team" points race for those who have not fished more than one event the previous year. And as always, we are offering the highest payouts of cash and prizes. It looks like we will be able to match last years prize line up as we will be handing out prizes all the way through 50+ places!!! We pay $2000 to the winner in each event and will be paying $10,000 to the classic winners.

Guys, here's your opportunity to participate in the areas most premier open points tournament trail in its 33rd season. I look forward to having another great season on the water! If anyone has any questions dont hesitate to contact me or any of the other officers!

I invite all of you to check out our website and discussion forum for further information: www.cbatournament.com

Churly, my new partner (twilson) has the brains of a 3 year old. Can we participate in the youth division? I'm at 5 year old level myself:)

LOL! No, but hopefully it will give you and your sons a chance to fish together in a tournament in the next few years. One of the complaints I heard last year was that our entries were unaffordable and we dont do anything for the youth. For 60 bucks a month you get to participate with a youth in your own points race, while still being eligible for the big bucks! The officers and I were very excited to put this together, I hope you all will take advantage of it!

Its a great thing. I really look forward to doing this with my boys. Hopefully they will like bass fishing. Right now they just like trying to destroy the boat.

Great job!

This sounds like a great idea CBA, I'm glad you have made the extra effort to get the younger kids into this sport. Good luck to all the future pros....

All we have to see is a working livewell, running lights, and kill switch. There is no length restriction! come out and join us!

Great job guys I fished 2 of the night tx last year they were the first cba's I had ever fished very well ran and the youth being brought into it is a awsome deal

That is a good program. emoApplause I may get in on this one. emoToast I like the idea of incouraging young folks and this is a great incentive for both the youth and the adult. Jmax

5 gallon bucket with an ariator work? emoCool no, really mine isn't much bigger than that but i think it will work.

Detail regarding the youth division are being printed now and added to the rules. We will have more details post on our website this weekend. I also wanted to let everyone know that we will NOT be having sign-ups in cleveland or Dalton. Anglers in these areas can call an officer to make sign-up arrangments. We want to give every able angler a chance to fish with us.

Very cool!!! Will kids have to find their own partner or will there maybe be a post of a kid needing a partner for tournament? Awesome guys!! Keep us posted.

Any youth that participates needs to be accompanied by a responsible adult. A release form must be signed by the parent or guardian of the child (as they always have).

It would be up to you to start a post...

Also a youth will be defined as any individual who has not reached their 17th birthday at the time that they buy their process card. Each participant will be required to purchase a process card to participate in any CBA points race, points, new team, or youth division. Those dollars fund the classic. I promise if you guys will work hard to get these kids on the water, we're gonna work hard to make sure they have a great time!

Another huge announcement!!!

We're very excited to announce that Damon Taylor of NUCLEAR RODS will donate 2 of his rods to award to the year-end winner of the youth division!!!! Guys these are terrific rods and will make a fine bassin' weapon for a lucky youth and their partner!

Thanks A Lot!
