There was an unexpected joyful feeling in Knoxville last week. Tennessee played well enough to give the ol' ball coach a little twist. However it is time to wake up to reality. It is the third week in October and I expect it to be a little tense in VOlville. Being that this is being played in Alabama. I expect that the tide will score at least 42 but I wouldn't be suprised to see 63.emoPoke

You've been so good with your last two picks, I'm sure you are so right. But tell me this... How can you drop in the polls when you win???? Quack Like a Duck.....lol..lol.... Keep that up and you won't even get a chance to play Bama....lol..lol...

I'm a big vols fan, but I don't think they'll be able to keep up saturday. I also don't see them getting beat by 50.
38-14 bama.

I hope (not expect) it's one of those old fashioned TN/AL defensive battles won with a last second field goal. Two consecutive last second winning field goals by the Vols would be exciting wouldn't it? We always beat AL when we're not supposed to and vice versa. BAMA better get ready to get physical. AL QB McCarron might ought to get some extra padding to protect him when McCullers pancakes him. Go Vols!!

I guess you haven't heard:

Everyone will hear soon enough. There's a new coach in Knoxville, a new force in the SEC. Alabama has peaked, and the Vols are on the rise. Two years to the top and it starts this Saturday in Tuscaloosa.

UT is a 28 point underdog. To put that in perspective FAU is a 23.5 point underdog against Auburn.

UT has an outstanding Oline and better than average skilled players and with an elite qb they would have an 7 win season or better.

As for the D they have a nose tackle Mt. McCuller (now that's original) and one linebacker. It just want do alot of good for a NT to occupy blockers while the LB's make plays if they only have one LB.

Just remember there is no shame in getting beat (even badly) by BAMA everybody else does "it is what it is"

The problem started several years ago when UT was more concerned with what was going on in Memphis than with what was going on on rocky top!

Now you have a coach painting rocks at night and blaming it on the opposing team to try to motivate his team!

Well I predicted two losses for BAMA this year. After this weekend the next big defeat will come against LSU or Auburn and maybe both. Do you know what happens when BAMA loses to Auburn? They change coaches.

Or they win NC's back to back and UT, AU, UK and Arkansas changes coaches?

I dont know about the others, but UT can't afford another coaching change, so they are *stuck* with Butch Jones. Ain't it grand!!! You and Guffey may wanna brush up on your crow recipes. I haven't seen a more inspired and rejuvenated Vol team in years. Jones has done an amazing job so far, and I'm agreeing with jimwarden and Herbie! emoSmile

The last time UT beat bama:
iPhone didn't exist
TJYeldon was in 6th grade
Bob Barker was still the host of the price is right
Hank Aaron was the MLB home run king
And gas was 1.91 a gallon

Very humorous but the last time was actually October 21, 2006 score was 13-16 at Neyland. It was a season Alabama would like to forget. They won six and lost seven, but even those six wins were vacated because they got caught cheating. Kinda like what's coming up for their most recent National Championships. You see paying players is frowned upon in the SEC. I bet they have that Sears trophy hidden in a bunker somewhere.

Now you got a coach who's wife was house shopping in Austin a couple of weeks ago....the wheel is starting to turn
