Re: Buoy-Master, Riverpark, Smallies and Spots for the freezer!, 4/29/12, Travis and Brother

Guess this thread has stirred up some crap. Of course I knew it would and didnt care. The evil side of me wanted to in some way...

I don't fully understand whats wrong with the fact I kept a few to eat. Maybe Im not a 110%percent die hard tournament angler. Of course I could have told most people that already.

There's nothing wrong with what I did....Nothing wrong if you want to do it. I pay to fish and have fun...feed my family and friends too. If your offended, get over it. I think your missing the full passion of fishing.

Grown in crap water....literally!

Re: Buoy-Master, Riverpark, Smallies and Spots for the freezer!, 4/29/12, Travis and Brother

Boy, it really hurts me to see a smallie being filleted! Seriously! There is a good reason for the TWRA putting a one fish per person per day limit on them with an 18 in. minimum size!

I would think if you wanted bass for a fish fry your having this fall, there will be plenty to collect at the weigh ins."

BILLY!!!! What are you thinking??? It is obviously OK if you first catch the bass to try to win <font color="#ff0

How dare you actually try to catch a fish for your own enjoyment and dinner! Remember in the future, it is only OK to kill fish for a bass tournament!!!!!!!! (unless it is NOT a bass, then kill what you want.)

Can we spell hypocrisy?? (Just my own view on the taboo of killing a bass to eat it instead of in a tournament............)

By the way, I realize that Buoy-Blaster is just stirring the (bass) pot for reaction..............well, it is workingemoBigsmile

this post was done with some type of motive. my point was that billy doesnt have to keep bass to feed his starving family. if he has a pallett for bass, than that would be no problem for Billy, since he is a CBA officer, and our battlefield casualties are never wasted. I have kept and ate fish, including bass.I have no problem with a mankeeping a bass to eat. But, since Billy is one of my CBA officers, and we promote black bass conservation, I was taken off guard by a picture of a trophy class smallmouthwith a knife through it. tournament anglers get penalized for dead fish, and are always ashamed to show up with a dead one. i agree eric, it is hypicritical action when Billy stood next to me and helped fight TVA in the name of angling conservation, then post this. Ive spoken with Billy, and He knew how I would.react.

I'll conserve til the day I'm good and gone just so I can enjoy catching AND occasionally keeping some to eat. Spots, yea, we loaded up and was split between 3 households. My take wasn't all that and yea, I enjoy the taste of a smallmouth. Lord knows I've filleted several through the CBA years that were over 5. Ive filleted MANY 5,6 7 and even an 8 largemouth last year. Yet I still conserve to keep the fishery growing.

I took 2 keepers out to have a friendly fish fry one day. Thank God I DO my part in conservation so I can have them to enjoy. ;)

I'll still stand by whatever efforts we need to take to keep the lake growing but I wont be blasted OR schooled for keeping 2 Smallies. That's just silly.

The best ones to eat are the ten and twelve inchers . you cant keep them anymore .A legal smallmouth is to big to eat in my opinion. Those small spots are delicious.

Re: Buoy-Master, Riverpark, Smallies and Spots for the freezer!, 4/29/12, Travis and Brother

Conservation has nothing to do with taking legal limits of the game your interested in . Its more about the quality of the environment for whatever game your helping.

yeah, they say the same thing about little deer. Billy is a blood thirsty mullet so we will probably.see a.pic of a fawn having the straps cut out since Teddy showed him how.to hunt.

Re: Buoy-Master, Riverpark, Smallies and Spots for the freezer!, 4/29/12, Travis and Brother

Your right about Teddy teaching me a few things and our does were bigger than most bucks in this area.(just ask Winder or Teddy himself) Yea, I had one small buck shot this year...a 5 point. Guess that was wrong too. For my first, I wasnt over excited but it was a monkey off my back. I had a great season and gave 3 deer to needing families. Yea, I shot 6 between 2 regions. Great newbie start!

Re: Buoy-Master, Riverpark, Smallies and Spots for the freezer!, 4/29/12, Travis and Brother

Smallies are as delicious as any gamefish in the Tennessee River, but to think you just honestly posted a picture of one filleted out without thinking the pot would be stirred is crazy.

You had a mullet when I met you!

Yes BeepRice. The pic did it and I'm regretting it. But it will eat good! :)
