Tony and I got out on WINDY Carters from 9-2, we went to see if the rain we got this week did any thing to the water level/clarity... The water is still down 12-15ft and clear as ever, I was hoping to get a little stain but it hasn't made it's way down from Ellijay just yet...... The bite was very strong for us today, numbers and quality were both very good.... We had 4 spots over 3lbs and 1 COW spot pushing 5lb today. The winter tournaments start tomorrow and the bite is finally coming around hope to see everyone there. Good Fishing

Good golly, those are some real butes there. I have gotta get to that place soon. Hey, maybe Sunday. Where can a fella get a yearly out of state around that lake early on a Sunday morning, or can somebody give me a link to get one on line? Great fish guys.

chicken liver---

There was a number of baits that worked today Jerkbaits, sb, crankbait, but the jig and jighead worm worked best for us.....

Sweeeeeet spots! Like Flip, I am anxious to get down to Carter's. How is the shaky-head bite down there?

why cant we get spots of that size on the TN river .. arggg! my best on the Tn is 3lbs but most are 10 - 14 inches .. maybe someday the spots will atain that status here

The jig-head worm bite is decent right now, it will get 100 times better in the coming weeks..... Normally around 1st wk of November it is very good..... With the exception of a few the fish really havent moved up yet, there stacked from 15ft down just above the thermocline which is @ 40ft right now......

from my experience on carters you have a learn the lake pretty well before you catch fish like that on a normal basis, i've fished there a good bit and have never been very successful at catching good fish, maybe it's my style, who knows, i know a guy who caught a 7.6 spot out of carters on a super sammy ... just gotta know where and how to fish it i guess ...

Madbomber, Trust me Below Guntersville Dam (Wheeler) to Ditto is one of the BEST spotted bass fishing on the TN river. I've caught quite a few in the 4-5lb range. Great fish Louie!!

I'm taking my first trip to Carters in the morning. I dont figure on catching much on the first trip. I just really want to check it out. Maybe try to fing some good looking places for winter fishing. Thanks for the info. guys.

Amazing how the last three pics show fish that are "Clones" of each other. Notice in this pic that a slide of each fish has the exact same markings. Strange. Almost looks like the same fish held by different persons with a different backdrop. emoUpsmile

Same fish! Look at the spot right in front of the tail. That pic of the different tail is where the tail is slightly folded. The markings tell the story.
