CBA 2010 SEASON

Chattanooga Fishing Forum

Help Support Chattanooga Fishing Forum:

Check the numbers on the BITE, BAIT, USA Bassin, and other trails that travel. What does their participation look like?? I would be willing to bet the majority of the people fishing at those Tx's are locals from the area anyway. A small amount travel and fish all the lakes throughout the year.

I would be interested in an amateur division as a chance to improve my skills and have fun competing. i dont do CBA's b/c at 120 a pop i would almost be certain of donating yes i know i might win prizes but to me thats not worth the 120$ entry fee.. i also like the idea of a non boaters division like some of the events like ABA and BFL do

After looking at one of my past post Churly it sounded as if I thought participation was down this year. I wanted to clarify I was referring to why its down from the past of 100+ boats. Participation is definetly up from the past 4-5 years.

Look guys lets get one thing straight. I am always open to suggestions and will listen to anyone's idea but everyone must realize what it took to make the 2009 season possible. The group of officers that were a part of this season have worked very hard to make this season be what it was and deserve the recognition for doing so. It was no one person, but a group of people that worked very hard to make this season possible.

Participation is probably up because of this website because Billy has helped out so much. I don't see any other change.

I agree for the most part. Billy and the CFF have definitely helped this year. Not taking away from any of the other officers, cause everyone did a good job this year as far as I'm concerned, but with the number of members we have here and Billy helping to promote each event, I seriously think he needs to be recognized as being a good helping hand this year. Billy takes a LOT of flack off of here, much of which is completely unneeded and uncalled for. But he keeps his head down and keeps moving forward.

i would be interested in the amateur div.....

As far as the classic....... Make it to where only the top so many in the amateur class could enter it.....

Since we dont wanna fish with the big boys make us prove it... that way if the big boys fish even just one of them they have to excel to make it to the big tourny..... this way it would detur any body entering jsut so they could run off with it....

just an idea

If you have a power outlet at weigh in you can get a sheet and projector and use powerpoint. I fished a TX in Ga that did that and it worked very well.

I haven't fished CBA yet...just been up here fishing for a year. May fish it this year if I can find a good partner.

I know bud.

The hard work lies in going out and getting sponsors, Leaving work Friday and heading to Cleveland to pick up sign up material and not getting home till 11:00 so all you have a quality tournament the next morning. Being the first one at the ramp and last one to leave. It wears a man down. You all like to dog Steve Kite but he has to stand on stage and be decent in 100 degree heat after fishing all day. Not many of you all understand what it takes to run a quality tournament.

Ameteur division will never happen! I used to like the idea, but the more I consider it, the more I realize that it would hurt what the CBA is all about. Its the highest paying, oldest tournament trail that we have in our area. If the entry is too high or you dont feel confident in your abilities, there are plenty of dogfights and other events to fish.

The CBA is unique because it has its own rules, payout, participants, schedule etc. As does every tournament. You guys want all this "change" but one thing I learned as an officer is that when you change anything, people complain and you cant keep anyone happy. Someone's always gonna wish this or that is different.

If you think Billy is the man, then show up to fish, nominate him, and show up in October to vote for him. Thats how this works. Or you could sit at home in your panties on the computer all night starting crap you have nothing to do with. This is a democracy, but so is this country, and most the cry babies dont vote in either situation.

Being a good officer has nothing to do with how good a fisherman you are or how popular you are. Its a lot like running a business.

I have no reason to be nominated for any office next year. I have zero plans on fishing it therefore I'll sit at home in my fruit of the looms.

You dont see any change because because you screwed not one but two different partners over, and dropped out of the season early. You didn't see that we have a deeper payout. You didn't see that we more than doubled the prize payout. You didn't see we give away $300 worth of rods to teams out of the money. You dont see that we increased the classic payout by almost $20K. over last year. You dont see any of this "change" because you dont participate.

I asked if any non-officers wanted to help many times, we have a lot to do 24/7-365. You have had every opportunity to get involved, and be a decent participant in a quality trail. But you blew the opportunity that anyone has and instead chose to be CFF antagonist #1! Your mouth has earned you one heck of a reputation in the fishing community!

Adam, Lance..thanks for the recognition but my job hasn't been that difficult. I didnt have to chase down sponsors and all..I just built a complete website that looked great but didnt function with the ease of the online wizard they use for CBA now.

Other than helping setup, I take the pics and help out where I can. I did however donate to CBA a great little sound system valued over 500 bucks. i set it up and make sure Camp Columbus can hear us..LOL. Then load up..head home and upload the pics. Thats about it but yeah..I've earned my ride either way and I appriciate your kind words.

Well this year has been my first year of fishing the CBA and I have enjoyed it as a whole. I have won zero dollars but it has still been fun. I thought it was all ran very well also. I have met some really good guys and gotten a lil better as a fisherman. That being said if ya'll need any help from a nonoficer lemme know. Also if you wanna have a fish release boat I have a 24 foot pontoon I would be more than happy to use.

Yall sound like a bunch of 12 year olds. Seriously quit fighting about who did who wrong, and who better is who....fish it or not. Period. I love having a better lake 20 minutes away and having NONE of these problems.</p>
