CBA 2010 SEASON

Help Support Chattanooga Fishing Forum:

I sure am glad to see wormhook stand up for us nickajack guys and I agree with him on times free press tx the chick boys wined and cried about having it on the jack and the reason was is there are only a handfull that can catch fish there

I stand behind the jack guys and what they say way to go wormhook I agree 100 percent on the times free press tx

I think steve kite runs a great tx every thing goes very smooth I plan to fish no matter what it will be my first year I fish 2 of the night tx and got checks in both still hope they have those next year

I don't see any reason for the night tourney's to go away. The CBA had a record number of night fishermen come out this year. Probably, because like me, they dont want to fish in the dead heat of the summer and/or tired of all the battle cruisers and jet-ski's that are out there during the day.

I'm sure that everybody doesn't realize what the officers do to make the CBA what it is, I know I don't. There is no telling how much of their own time that they have invested into just running the tourney much less getting sponsers and equipment, signs and such. I have applauded the officers before for putting their time in on something that i enjoy doing once a month. Which is show up, pay my money and fish.

IMHO

Again thanks for your hard work

you got to give Bettlespin a little more credit than that, his rep reaches farther than outside of the fishing community!

They should change the rules to no dropped tournements. Because dropped tournements only hurt the consistent fisherman. It also encourages participation to fish every month and that means larger payouts. Just my two cents.

Best one I've heard yet! 2nd no redraws! 4-5 guys have said it.

You guys have work your but's off & it hasn't gone unnoticed this year. From my CBA partner & my self, THANKS & please keep up the good work. I hear Tndoe is going to run for CBA rep. she's got my vote.

AirrusBoy - 9/4/2009 2:32 PM Who sponsors who? The cba sponsors CFF or CFF sponsors the CBA?

The deal is a "you scratch our backs, we'll scratch yours" kind of thing.

CBA gets exclusive rights to advertise thier trail with thier sponsors to the pint of having the sponsors ad images here on CFF.

In return, we were to see contributions in the form of CBA fishing reports along with the tournament results. Officers were asked to mention to CBA anglers to join up and leave a report about thier day on the water.

out of all the cba's this year i bet there has been less then 20 cba fishing reports give or take a few.. emoScratch so at 50 boats per event that is 500 possible reports and probably more since 50 is a low number.. doesnt seem to be that they are doing their part there

I like the idea of having a fish release pontoon boat as well as a leaderboard. As far as reduced entry fees and shortened hours, I think everyone should consider what we all go after and that is what is best for the fish, not the fisherman. I personally think it is very hard on our fish to stay in a livewell for 10 and 12 hours especially when there is not a requirment to have X amount of ice once the water temperature reaches a certain degree, but that is my opinion. I know alot of guys enjoy the length of time they have on the water but I think we all need to think how it may or may not affect these truly trophy largemouths that are being caught now. I for one would like to see my neices and nephews have the resources and enjoy what we do now in 10 years or so what we have today. I remember those days when it was tough to catch the 12" keepers, then we had the grass, then TVA destroyed our fishery. I remember bassmaster visiting in the late 80's early 90's and to this day chickamauga held the record for the lowest wt keeper fish ever caught in a bassmaster tx of 7 or 8 oz. How many people remember the funeral where all the fisherman decorated their boats as caskets and such and circled the TVA building downtown. I know Steve, Gary, Chris, Alan, and several others remember those days. The CBA has been around for a long time and I look for it to be around for much longer but the controversy needs to simmer down some, of course you will never please everyone especially when it comes to competition and when there is money involved. I hope if I get nominated and elected I'll have the opportunity to help with sponsorships and assist with continued growth and new memberships in the CBA.

Guys we need to rember that a large # of guys that fish the CBA's prob don't have access to this site (no pc) And also the guy who are not posting never said they would do so. Heck DK stoped posting because he had to take a # to get back in where he had made the post about. Now before I get jumped all over for saying this. Yes I know you don't have to give indepth description of wher you fished & all that, but let's face it. The Chick. bent pole pattern as alive & well on this lake. And if your seen fishing & catching fish on a place. You better have a fast boat. That's just the way it is.

Also I would like to see & hear more positive things that could help the CBA's become bigger, not whats wrong & more bashing. This thread just seems to keep heading that way & there is nothing to be gained from it, just loseing vol. & hard working CBA guy& gals who get very little in return to start with.

As for not seeing any changes , I have seen alot & like them all. i fish the state fed., the ABA's & the Harrison bassmasters & the CBA's are run as well if not better than them all. One again THANKS to all involved & please keep up the good work.emoSmile

Don't agree with lesser division one tournament is hard enough to keep up with. Maby tinkering with the point system would be an easier way to help some of the guys at the bottom ? I have often thought about a tournament season where you had a point system that had possibly bigger tournaments inside of the regular seoson , such as a two day tournament , kinda like the way they do the golf season now and I know I'm going to get ribbed for mixing golf and fishing . But look at the golf tour they have a point system that awards more points for some tournaments than others. And they have a playoff system at the end . This could possibly change the participation of fishermen. Don't know if this would help or not but its just a thought.
