So my brother and I haven’t fished tournaments in forever. Last year I fished one with you guys but after that it seems like work would consistently get in the way of fishing. Years ago my dad and brother fished tournaments quite often until he passed away. Over the past couple of years my brother has got back into fishing some but he lives towards Cartersville so we only got to fish together maybe once a month.
Since I moved to Harrison a couple of years ago the competitive bug started back up in me.
I had been catching some fish along grass lines and wood fairly good leading up to the tournament. The problem was TVA must not like us and decided to pull the plug on the lake. Where we had been catching some was nearly out of the water.
Between that and the anticipation of cba boats being everywhere we didn’t have much of a plan other than find somewhere without boats and start slinging. Luckily we started before cba and was able to find an area alone.
Water temp was between 52-55. Caught everything winding rattle baits. Only caught 7 if I recall total but was able to get a couple of big fish early. They were definitely biting weird as we got hits as the day went but weren’t able to get to the boat. It amazes me how they can do that with treble hooks.
We hope to get to fish with you all again. Everyone was nice and the sign up and weigh in was no trouble.
