Psalm 139:10 KJV
"Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me."

No matter where we are or what we are facing, if we belong to God His hand leads us and as this verse makes clear His hand also holds us so we are secure in Him. There is no better guide or place to be. Amen

Luke 17: 27-30 NIV
27"People were eating, drinking, marrying and being given in marriage up to the day Noah entered the ark. Then the flood came and destroyed them all. 28 It was the same in the days of Lot. People were eating and drinking, buying and selling, planting and building. 29 But the day Lot left Sodom, fire and sulfur rained down from heaven and destroyed them all. 30 It will be just like this on the day the Son of Man is revealed."

This present age will come to a close one day. We don't know if it will be this evening or 100 years or more from now. The events foretold in the Bible about the last days are coming true all around us. I'm not an alarmist in the sense that I put a specific date on when Jesus will rapture His people out but it is closer today than yesterday. None of us are promised tomorrow, any of us could be standing in front of God at any moment to answer for our lives. The verses I listed make it plain that this world will be going about it business as usual until the unusual happens. The simple truth is that there will only be two groups. Those who have Jesus and those who do not. Please seek God and make preparations so you don't get caught unprepared. I like to ask those who believe that everything is by chance if they believe that this world and everything in it could have come about without an intelligent designer (God). It takes much more faith to believe all this is just by accident, that all the species developed and that the planets and stars just happened. Where or where did all the stuff that everything developed from come from? The correct answer - God who has no beginning or maker simply spoke everything into existence. God created everything and He is the designer.

Colossians 3:12-13 NIV
12: Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. 13: Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.

Proverbs 16:9 NIV
"In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps."

A good friend sent me this verse recently. It is so easy to get busy with everything and forget that ultimately God is in control of our steps. We can plan, plot, and even scheme but God has the final say.

Isaiah 40:3 NIV

A voice of one calling: "In the wilderness prepare the way for the Lord, make straight in the desert a highway for our God."

This verse has so many truths and encouragement but also challenges for us. Note this verse doesn't say prepare the way for the Lord in our palace or good place, no it says in the wilderness. Make a small path for our God in the good times, not hardly -- it says make a straight highway in the desert for our God! There are two times when we as humans tend to forget God and not clear a path for Him to reach our inner being. Those times are the really great times and the really bad times. Often we get discouraged when we are in the wilderness and deserts of our lives and we can think God isn't around or doesn't care. Not so, God who created us knows everything about us in every circumstance we might be in. We need to get the clutter out of our lives, the bitterness, the envy, anger, and strife and be still. We need to seek God and be open with our minds and hearts to the teaching of the Holy Spirit. We need to throw open our selves and allow God to flood in on a straight, wide, highway. Amen, I hope you all have a most blessed Christmas and New Year.
