"For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved"
John 3:17 KJV

This verse is not as well known as John 3:16 but as is all scripture it is significant. So many view God as an iron fisted tyrant who just wants to rain on their fun but not so. God loves us and wants to restore us back to Himself!

"And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of his Spirit who lives in you."
Romans 8:11 NIV

"He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake."
Psalm 23:3 KJV

As this verse points out, "he leadeth me"! In and of ourselves we cannot and will not follow the paths of righteousness but with a relationship with God through Jesus Christ we can be led on that path.

"Make no friendship with an angry man; and with a furious man thou shalt not go:"
Proverbs 22:24 KJV

"Do not make friends with a hot-tempered person, do not associate with one easily angered."
Proverbs 22:24 NIV

Enough said!

"But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin."
1 John 1:7 KJV

1 Peter 2:24
"He himself bore our sins" in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; "by his wounds you have been healed."

This is the good news of the gospel! Jesus paid it all for us, Jesus is the ONLY way to God the Father!

2 Corinthians 10:5 KJV
"Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ:"

Our thoughts are where Satan attacks us first, that is why it is so critical to be careful about what we see and hear, the garbage of this world going in will yield garbage thoughts which will yield garbage actions!

Proverbs 10:16-17 NIV
16"The wages of the righteous is life, but the earnings of the wicked are sin and death"

17"Whoever heeds discipline shows the way to life, but whoever ignores correction leads others astray"

Warnings here that we all should take seriously! Amen

Psalm 106:1
"Praise the LORD. Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever."

This verse about being thankful is spot on as we are about to celebrate Thanksgiving. God is the source for every good gift! Amen
I hope you all have a most blessed Thanksgiving weekend, take a moment and thank the One who is so good.

Psalm 138:3 NIV
"When I called, you answered me; you greatly emboldened me."

David found himself in many tight spots, sometimes caused by others and sometimes as a consequence of his own actions. Regardless, like David if we will call on the Lord He will answer and we will be strengthened! Amen

Proverbs 18:24 KJV
"A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother."

It is hard to have friends if a person doesn't know how to be a friend and the friend that sticks closer than a brother is Jesus Christ who will never leave us or forsake us! Amen

Merry CHRISTmas! The truth is we wouldn't have Christmas without Jesus who is the Christ. 700 years before the birth of Jesus the prophet Isaiah gave us this prophecy through the instruction of God. This prophecy told of the coming of Jesus and in detail. Many in Jesus day thought the promised Messiah would come as a warrior King to defeat the hated Romans but Isaiah clearly told that He would come as a child.

"For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace." Isaiah 9:6 NIV

Have a wonderful CHRISTmas, I thank God for the greatest gift, the gift of Jesus.

Jude 1:20-21
20"But you, dear friends, by building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit,

21"keep yourselves in God's love as you wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you to eternal life."

Our walk with God through Jesus requires action on our part to be healthy and stay healthy. We have to make an effort to build ourselves up by being in God's word and God's house. It takes meditating on the scriptures, I like the word "ponder", we need to ponder the word so we can discover how it relates to our current situation and apply it to our lives. To be a healthy child of God we must pray regularly and I would add not just to make our requests known but to engage God in a conversation with prayers for others. God loves us as his beloved creations made in His very image. He desires a relationship with us.

God Bless

1 John 3:2 NIV
"Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when Christ appears we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is."

Acts 4:12 KJV
"Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved."

This was Peter's words under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit as he and John were brought before the religious leaders of the day to answer about why they were preaching and teaching about Jesus, who the religious leaders hated.

So instead of being politically correct and trying to save their skin and be released, no that's not what Peter did. In boldness he doubled down and made sure all who could hear him knew that the Jewish Law nor any other religion, not works, not good deeds, no nothing but Jesus could save a person from having to pay their sin debt. What is the payment required for unforgiven sin and what is the antidote? "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord,." Romans 6:23. Note that the death spoken of isn't a physical death but a spiritual death. Who has this sin debt to pay, why all of us - the Bible is clear, "for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." Romans 3:23. What is our escape? "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." John 3:16 KJV. Our lives are like a vapor, here today and gone tomorrow. Someday we will all breathe our last breath on this earth and we will stand before God to be judged for our actions and deeds in this life. I speak the truth to you. There will only be two groups. Those who accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior, they have had their sins covered by Jesus blood. You see, Jesus shed his innocent blood to pay the penalty for our sin debt. The other group are those without Christ, they will be cast into eternal punishment because they rejected the Son of God. You can argue but that won't change the truth. Look around, can you not see this world is getting more and more evil, more and more confused, more and more in opposition to God? Some might say that the Bible, the Gospel is narrow minded and that surely there are many ways to God. Not so, there are many absolutes we accept everyday. Some things are narrow, some things are very specific. Some things there is only one way. Please search your heart and consider what I've written. We have promises in the Bible. If a person seeks God sincerely then that person will find God. "You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart." Jeremiah 29:13, "I love those who love me, and those who seek me find me." Proverbs 8:17 and finally this promise in Matthew 7: 7-8, "Ask and it shall be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you." God Bless you:)

Genesis 1:1 KJV
"In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth."

In our fast paced world full of amazing technologies it is sometimes good to go back to the beginning. Nothing has been made or ever will be made that God didn't make. Some will disagree saying, "that factory made that car, not God" but God made all the atoms and molecules that make up that car. We humans can rearrange matter but we can't create from nothing something, only God can do that!

John 14:27 NIV
"Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid."

I hope you all have a great week filled with peace and contentment.
