God looks down from heaven on the sons of men to see if there are any who understand, any who seek God.
—Psalm 53:2

For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of you.
Romans 12:3 NIV

Humility is truly a great virtue but I find it is something that has to be intentional and really given a high priority because it is not human nature!

"Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus"
Philippians 1:6 NIV

I don't know about you but sometimes I start something and then lose interest or get busy or for whatever reason I don't follow it through. We can praise our God that He is not like that. If we belong to God then the work He starts within us He will follow through. Of that we can be confident. Sometimes the work is long, sometimes the path is hard, sometimes the path makes no sense to our mortal minds but God is faithful and His ways are superior because He is almighty God and He knows the beginning and the end!

24 "The LORD is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him." 25 "The LORD is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him." 26 "It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the LORD."
Lamentations 3: 24 - 26 KJV

6 "Seek the LORD while he may be found; call on him while he is near." 7 "Let the wicked forsake their ways and the unrighteous their thoughts. Let them turn to the LORD, and he will have mercy on them, and to our God, for he will freely pardon."
Isaiah 55: 6 - 7

Some may think they are too far from God to be forgiven! Not so, the wicked and the unrighteous can be washed white as snow by the blood of Jesus if they will only turn to God! When we are forgiven through Jesus' sacrifice for us we are transformed into a new creation. Our old ways are past and we have become new. If you are reading this and you don't have a personal relationship with Christ, please seek Him. Repent and ask Jesus into your life. Just a head (intellectual) knowledge of Jesus won't do it. Send me a PM and I will reply if you have questions.

"Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires."
Galatians 5:24 NIV

Many people struggle and question if they belong to God or not, if they have really been born again. This scripture gives us a great way to know. The person who belongs to Christ keeps their flesly passions and desires under control. Even as born again believers in Christ who have been transformed we know from the scriptures that we still have a sin nature, we still contend with our "flesh". Sometimes we fall, we give in to temptation but for the person who has truly been transformed their sin nature has been brought under control. What does that mean. First when we mess up, when we sin we have the Holy Spirit dwelling within us that convicts us of our failure. We are driven by our new nature to confess our mistake and ask God for forgiveness. The Christian avoids sins by being wise (fearing or respecting who God is) and by having wisdom (fleeing - staying away from sin). Now some will point at Christianity and say the Christian is no different than anyone else, that we just have what is called a "license" to sin because all we have to do is ask God to forgive. There is nothing further from the truth for the true Christian. Our sin grieves us, our conscience won't let us rest until we have repented. The real Christian does not continue or practice sinful behaviour. If any person stays in their sin without being chastized by the Holy Spirit then that person has never been born again. That may sound harsh but I write this on the authority of the scriptures. God Bless you all. Be encouraged, Jesus is coming back. Until then let's live for Him and be busy about His work.

"I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep."
John 10:11 KJV

I hope you all had a great Easter weekend. This verse seems appropriate for this time. Jesus spoke these words and then He did exactly that, He endured death on the cross for us. Thank God the grave could not hold Him, He has risen and He is alive!

"Grace be to you and peace from God the Father, and from our Lord Jesus Christ, Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father:"
Galations 1: 3 - 4 KJV

"1 Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. 2 Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. 3 For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God."
Colossians 3: 1-3 NIV

" 5) If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. 6) But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind."

James 1:5-6 NIV

"Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;"

Ephesians 6:18 KJV

"Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God."
Colossians 3:1 NIV

A question we should always ask ourselves is "what and where is our heart set"? The answer will tell us a lot about ourselves!

"13) For he has rescued us from the darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, 14) In whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. 15) The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation."
Colassians 1: 13 - 15 NIV

To know God is to know Jesus, to be rescued is to follow Jesus, to be forgiven is only by accepting Jesus as Lord, Amen

"For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind."
2 Timothy 1:7 KJV

This is a great encouragement, just look at what God has given us. The flip side is that when we fear, feel powerless, lack love, or are in a state of mental confusion that those things are not from God and are not what God intends for His children!

"Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD"
Psalm 27:14 KJV

In the instant world that we live waiting isn't our nature, we want everything to be instant, even when we take our prayer requests to God, we want instant answers. Waiting serves many purposes, waiting for the right circumstances, waiting for the maturity to handle the answer, waiting for others involved to be prepared by God. It is vital to remember our goal should be to be in God's will and not our own. To be in God's will is to be in God's time. God knows when, only God was in the beginning and only God sees the end.

"For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him."
Colossians 1:16 NIV

"For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations."
Psalm 100:5

This truth can be a great comfort for us when we face difficult times, these are some characteristics of God that when we remind ourselves will strengthen us, driving out fear and anxieties. Amen!
