The word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.
—Hebrews 4:12

RE: Verse of the Day Job 28:28 KJV

What is wisdom and what is understanding, questions that we all should think about, here in this short simple verse are the answers!

"And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding." Job 28:28 KJV

RE: Verse of the Day John 8:12 KJV

"Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying. I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life" John 8:12 KJV

Without Jesus life is just stumbling around in the dark with no direction, no purpose, and no hope!

RE: Verse of the Day Jonah 2:1-2 NIV

"Verse 1- From inside the fish Jonah prayed to the LORD, his God. Verse 2- He said: In my distress I called to the LORD, and he answered me. From deep in the realm of the dead I called for help, and you listened to my cry."

Our situation can seem hopeless like Jonah's was. He considered his situation being in the belly of the fish to be as good as dead but he cried out to God. He was honest with God about his situation and God moved on his behalf. We should never think that we are too far "gone" or too bad or whatever for God to hear us and help us if we are sincere with our cry for help and if we are honest about our needs.

RE: Verse of the Day 2nd Corinthians 5:17

First I would like to send Happy New Years wishes to everyone on this first day of 2023! I pray that 2023 will be a year of blessing and spiritual growth for us all. This verse I think is very appropriate for today, the start of a new year.

"Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away: behold, all things are become new." 2nd Corinthians 5:17 KJV

I beg you as we begin a new year. If you are reading this post and don't know Jesus as Lord, it isn't by accident that you are reading these words. If you are tired of the same old life, if you are frustrated and it feels as if you are being crushed by the weight of your circumstances, if you have never had a personal relationship with Jesus Christ please make 2023 the year that you seek God. We are promised that if we seek God that we will find Him. As the verse I posted reads, find Jesus, accept Him for who He is, the promised Messiah, the savior of the world and you will be born again to a NEW life. Jesus is the only way for man to be forgiven of sin and to be reconciled back to God. Confess that Jesus is the Son of God, that he gave His life on the cross- shedding His blood to cover our transgressions against a Holy God. It is a free gift, it costs us nothing, Jesus paid it all. Someone reading this may be at the end of your rope, you've tried it all and nothing satisfies, nothing you've tried fills that hole in your soul, that empty hopeless lost feeling. None of this world's distractions can ever satisfy, only Jesus can do that. Some of you may say,"you don't know the life I've lived, God could never forgive me." That is a lie of Satan, No one is beyond the love of God. Yes our sins can be big but God is bigger. Read John 3:16 - "the world" includes all of us. The theft on the cross next to Jesus that humbled himself, admitted his sin, and asked Jesus to remember him was a horrible person much like us yet Jesus did not reject him, but promised that the man would be in paradise soon. Jesus came to seek and to save the lost, period. Find a solid local church in your community that preaches and teaches the Word of God as it is from cover to cover of the Holy Bible that God preserved for us. Learn about Jesus, who He is and turn your life over to Him, you will never be the same. If you have questions please send me a message, I don't pretend to know everything but I do know God, He knows me and I have His Bible. I will reply. God Bless!

RE: Verse of the Day Jonah 3:10 NIV

"When God saw what they did and how they turned from their evil ways, he relented and did not bring on them the destruction he had threatened." Jonah 3:10 NIV

The Ninevites were a very wicked people but when they heard they were about to fall into the hands of a righteous Holy God they repented and God did not destroy them. This is a great illustration that no one is beyond God's forgiveness. America needs revival, we need to repent and ask God to heal our land. Please pray for our nation.

Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day.
—2 Corinthians 4:16

In God, whose word I praise, in God I trust; I will not be afraid. What can mortal man do to me?
—Psalm 56:4

We are not of those who shrink back and are destroyed, but of those who believe and are saved.
—Hebrews 10:39

For Christ's love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died. And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again.
—2 Corinthians 5:14-15

For it is commendable if someone bears up under the pain of unjust suffering because they are conscious of God.
—1 Peter 2:19

But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us.
—2 Corinthians 4:7

But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me.
—2 Corinthians 12:9

RE: Verse of the Day Matthew 19:26 NIV

"Jesus looked at them and said, "With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible." Matthew 19:26 NIV

This should be a great encouragement to us. When we are facing what seems to be a no-win situation, maybe health, finances, or relationship, whatever it might be we can know that if we belong to God He only has good for us, we are not alone and the situation is not hopeless!

O Lord, let your ear be attentive to the prayer of this your servant and to the prayer of your servants who delight in revering your name. Give your servant success today by granting him favor in the presence of this man.
—Nehemiah 1:11
