Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.
—James 5:16

Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.
—1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

Make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.

Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.
—Ephesians 4:32

RE: Matthew 6:19

Matthew 6:19-21 KJV
19"Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:
20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:
21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also."

There is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life in Christ has set me free from the law of sin and death.
—Romans 8:1-2

Oh, the depth and riches of the wisdom and the knowledge of God! How unsearchable his judgments, and his paths beyond tracing out.
—Romans 11:33

RE: Verse of the Day Micah 6:8

Micah 6:8
"He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God"

My no charge comment on this verse. Many times we search and search for God's will for our lives. I suggest this verse is a good basic starting place for us all. This plainly states what God wants from his children!

May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you a spirit of unity among yourselves as you follow Christ Jesus, so that with one heart and mouth you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
—Romans 15:5-6

I appeal to you, brothers, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another so that there may be no divisions among you and that you may be perfectly united in mind and thought.
—1 Corinthians 1:10

You, my brothers, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the sinful nature; rather, serve one another in love.
—Galatians 5:13

RE: Verse of the Day Ephesian 2: 8-10

Ephesians 2 verses 8 - 10 KJV
"8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 not of works, lest any man should boast. 10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which hath before ordained that we should walk in them."

This very familiar passage shuts down those who would work themselves to heaven, good works are a natural result of being born again! Verse 10 is not as often quoted but it reminds us that we are God's workmanship. Often our problems stem from our attempts to work on ourselves. We really have to let go and let God!

RE: Verse of the Day Proverbs 3: 5-6

Proverbs 3: 5- 6 KJV
"5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. 6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths."

This passage was part of my morning devotion this morning. A key point that really struck me was how our relationship with God is to be with or heart and not our intellect. Faith is faith, it isn't logical, it is based on the unseen, it isn't something that can be calculated or quantified. When we walk based upon what we see and think without regard to the Lord then we set ourselves up for failure and unhappiness.

Sing to God, sing praise to his name, extol him who rides on the clouds — his name is the Lord — and rejoice before him. A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in his holy dwelling.
—Psalm 68:4-5

Fathers, do not exasperate your children, instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.
—Ephesians 6:4

The Lord will keep you from all harm — he will watch over your life; the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.
—Psalm 121:7-8

RE: Verse of the Day Matthew 7:8

"For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and the one who knocks; the door will be opened"
Matthew 7:8 NIV
Not always but often, blessings require some action on our part!
