Got up about 2:30, heard the thunder and rain. What a day to fish. Weatherman was right, stopped by 6 AM. Mike and I ran to our first stop. Had a keeper in the first 10 minutes or so. Got number two couple minutes later. Mike sets the hook on another fish, rod is bent. Starts to pull drag. Soon we think it is a drum. Goes around the trolling motor. Had to pull up the troller, pass the rod underneath to clear the line. Fish comes up, big cat. Back to bass, get third few minutes later. Got a sack inside an hour. Make a move, get number four, first cull. Later added another spot, and cull again. Couple more moves, no upgrades. Caught 20+ fish, most were not keepers, but kept us entertained. Spots, largemouth, smallmouth, and the lone cat. 1/4 oz jigs, senko, ned head did the work. Also tried cranks, topwater. Biggest, the keeper largemouth was on a ned head. Ended with 4.90. Ran dam to Harrison bay. Caught most of the fish 6-10 fow, rocks and docks. Rode back through the whitecaps, looked like the great lakes, bounced the same way.
Congratulations to Ronnie and Earl, 10+ sack. Also big spot. Leonard had big largemouth. Thanks to the committee for another event.
