Mike and I ran down lake to start. First two stops , community holes, had a bite or two, and that was it. No keepers. Moved to number three , got a short spot. Mike lost a keeper when it jumped. Finally caught our first keeper, 12.00001" long. Got our second in a couple more casts. Solid keeper. Got number three, bite slowed, we moved. Caught a very short smallmouth on a DT 6. Made several more moves, culled our smallest. Last stop Mike gets a largemouth to cull again. Ended with 5 and something for about sixth. All fish, except a short largemouth , were caught on jigs, 1/4 oz. Threw buzz bait, cranks, Senko, Brush hog and jigs. Jigs did the work. Water temp was mid 60's most places, stained to slightly muddy color. Big largemouth was close, Earl and Ronnie were .05 short of winning. Congrats,again, to Billy and Steven. 9.97 bag, plus big largemouth, big fish pots. Thanks to the committee for another good event. Gonna skip the night events, fish again in September.
